I had such a relaxing time on my mini reading retreat this weekend, I even managed to finish my latest nonfiction read, all about foxes 🦊 It’s written wonderfully well and explores the history of our relationship with the fox, delving into myths, characteristics of the fox, the fox in fiction and more controversial topics like fox hunting. I found I was more pulled in and drawn by a couple of the children’s stories than the others. I feel that I got to know more about some characters and less about others, which I feel made me invest less in their story. Overall, I enjoyed the premise of the novel and the lessons which can be inferred here. I understand that how the Gold children responded and handled the news is what would ultimately determine whether the prophecy was fulfilled or not.
