Evaluation and Timetable for Week 8
Timetable and Evaluation
Evaluation for Week 7
For week 7 I was able to get a lot of experimentation done such as sketching the different shapes and textures of fruit so that I can have an idea of how I could arrange them in letterforms. I have even been able to get a few examples of letterforms within my sketchbook of certain fruit and vegetables, last week I have also had the opportunity to listen to the talk from lucy, during the talk I was able to make a lot of rough notes of what she was talking about in her presentation. I have higlighted some keypoints which I found to be thought provoking; mainly points such as what a designer may get involved in at some point of their career.
At the moment I only have rough notes from this talk so I still need to write up about the talk in the sketchbook, for any work which still needs to be completed I save a page in my sketchbook so the work put in is more orderly. When it comes to completing work before a deadline I would say that I do tend to spend a lot of time with writing up rough notes but sometimes having rough notes is unnecessary when I could have just written down keypoints within my sketchbook.
When creating letterforms inspired by the shape and form of friut and veg I knew it would be a challenge to make it legible. The simple solution for this was to experiment to see which letters created would work in a letterform. Even if the idea of a letterform doesnt work its still good to out down all the ideas i have for this project; I will have a better understanding for which letterforms work better after gaining peer feedback.
Evaluation for Week 6
For week 6 I have added a list of supermarket brands into my sketchbook, Lidl was one supermarket brand I wanted to look into as I know they have done their part in ensuring the customer has a good experience within their store. I decided to write down about ho they changed a customers shopping experience by adding fun sized trolleys to their UK stores. I have come to realise that small decisions made by a brand do have an impact on the way consumers see a brand. Just by the addition of the small carts, Lidl has altered the brands appearance to the nation as one which is more about family.
From analysing the Lidls shopping carts I am more aware of how I should be trying to push Tesco’s image to one which is more humble and a supermarket where the demographic can have an enjoyable experience within the store, theres no reason why shopping has to become a chore. It can be an experience for the family to enjoy. Now it would be a good time to also look at other brands and how they are working towards creating a sustainable future, for next week I should make time to analyse how Asda have not only tried to make a more convenient shopping trip but have also made sure their supermarket is ahead of keeping sustainable not only for today but for the future of shopping.
This week I have also gained the opportunity to really indulge in experimentation work, the task was to come up with words for phrases to finish the sentence ‘A little help is’. With this task I was able to use real fruits and vegetables to spell out the words chosen, I was working with a tripod and camera I to take imagery which will be sent to my laptop later. Unfortunately I wasn't able to complete the task fully as I didn't have an SD adapter to send of the images into my laptop. After taking imagery today I was supposed to experiment with arranging it along side the Tesco logo and the phrase ‘a little help is’. Not having the the adapter had hindered the progress in the amount of time it would have taken to complete the outcomes. Now that I have The adapter this problem shouldn't happen again, I need to ensure I complete work now before a given time if I don want to leave any pieces of work unfinished in my sketchbook or blog.
Aim for Week 5
My aim for week 5 is to get any work which still needs completed done. I need to also prioritise getting experimentation done during this week. Its time to be creative with this brief and time to start showing visual work. I will try working with materials and techniques during this week; I need to make sure that I am able to explain how the pieces of work created links in with what Tesco are asking for in this brief. I should look into the techniques other artists and designers use and apply them to my own work. if I wanted to create a stop motion as experimentation for example I should be looking into the work of a stop motion artist and into the methods they use to get an effective outcome.
WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE THIS WEEK:
Create visual pieces of work, My tutor Sarah has suggested doing a stop motion as experimentation. If I am doing any piece of work I should take down notes while working so that I don't spend too much time writing up later.
Make sure you keep the blog up to date, any work which still needs to be completed can be done in my spare time. I shouldn't let work pile up, Its time to make a list of what tasks still need to be completed, I need to prioritise recent tasks given.
Evaluation for Week 4
I would say this week has been the most productive although for future weeks I want to push myself to get work completed within a given timeframe. Because I didn't create a timeline yet for last week it caused confusion with which tasks are completed and which ones still need finishing off. I will make sure that week 6 will be a very productive and organised week, I will also try and make sure the blog is up to date and that I am able to organise the work so that what Im doing for the project is understandable for anyone viewing the work.
GIVEN TASKS DURING THE WEEK:
Write down Problems and Solutions to Tesco as a Brand and the way they Advertise
Look at Relevant Artist Research for Show and Tell
Create a Pangram Poster, Experimental Typography
Write at least 5 Outcome Ideas of what you can create for this brief
For the following above I still need to document any experimental pieces of work on the blog. For the artist research I will use my spare time to fully analyse the work and explain why this piece of work in particular is inspiring and how the artist is able to engage an audience with her piece of work. Because I am very behind it should be good to use up spare time to remain engaged with what still needs to be completed.
Week 1 Overview
Days 1-7
Total Calories: 5,849
Total Good days: 3
Total Bad days: 4
Notes: The beginning is always the hardest. I’m disappointed I gave in so many times. As predicted it was the hardest when Mom was around. It’s not her fault but having someone else feed you is like an excuse. “It’s not in my control” so you give in and eat too much.
I bought Just Dance which is super helpful for cardio since I don’t want to go outside to walk at this point in time and even though Fitness Blender is good, it bores me to death. So dancing is the way to go.
I did yoga the majority of last week. inconsistently to be sure but I’d like to do it at least three times this week.
Week 2 Goals
1.Do yoga 3 times
2. Play Just Dance at least a bit every day
3. Learn to say no, to yourself and to others. Portion control will save you.
Week 9 Evaluation
30th April - 7th May
So far, everything on my side of the project is in good standing. I have finished the animation stage and shall move into rendering, compositing and editing in the next week. I am confident that I will accomplish everything that I need to do for the deadline.
I am a little concerned about whether or not the rest of the group will be finished on time, but I have faith in them to finish their sequences with enough time to edit and finesse.
Weekly Evaluation
24th April - 30th April
Now that I have started the animation process, I feel confident that my part of the project will get finished on time for the deadline.
The next week will be focusing on neatening out the now-blocked animation by continuing to spline and refine. I will also keep editing together work-in-progress sequences, as that has helped me in the blocking stage to ensure that everything is timed correctly and works with each other.
I also hope to get more contact with my group. With two weeks left, I feel like there needs to be an increase in relevant communication within.
