Week 4 Overarching Question

All three articles discuss the current perspectives of children’s voices and suggest methods to support the expression of these voices and how to recognize and appreciate children’s contributions to their lives. Reflexivity, hermeneutics, and answerability are identified as theoretical perspectives used to observe the issues being addressed.

Does the author(s) end the introduction with a concise and focused summary and statement of the research problem?

Week 3 Overarching Question

Both Mayes (2016) and Svahn (2011) clearly state the research problem and the focus of the current research within the end of the introduction. Pole (2007) states the research problem vaguely and discusses previous research related to the current issue.

Does the author(s), in the initial portion of the article, provide an overview of the problem to be addressed in the study?

Week 2 Overarching Question

All three articles (Larkins 2014, Lundy 2011, and Wickenden 2014) provide ample information about the issues being addressed in their respective studies. In addition, the articles draw logical and evidence-based conclusions about the issues of children’s research discussed and include suggestions for future research.
