kaja spends a lot of dao thinking she's going to die before ending the blight. there are multiple times where she almost dies. her first near-death experience shakes her up a lot because she's casteless at that point.
she's always been a very firm believer in the stone and that after a dwarf dies they will return to the stone, become part of the ancestors, guide + care for their descendants + make the stone stronger. but since she's casteless it means that she won't ever be able to rest and will become a malevolent spirit or a rock wraith, which feels very heavy on her shoulders as well as her heart and soul.
