Worlds apart

A dream lingered in his heart of wanting to go back, just to awaken to the silence of the room never leaving the past, the soft bedding against his white light clothing felt almost shuttering as his eyelashes closed falling into a world of soft sorrow, he looked up to see her, lady in white with long soft black hair down to the ground surrounded by crystal like rocks and a cold smoke.

Madam Lan looked up softly at her boy, her grown up son with a tease along her lips seeing how reserved he still is before patting on the ground.

“Mother..” his voice cracked as he sat down kneeling in front of her like he was taught to.

“I fell in love with…. a man they called evil,” he softly started as she waved to let him continue, noticing something different about her son.

“How could I not when the devil has the heart of an Angel?” Lan Wangji almost questioned himself as he talked but he looked up to his mother with soft eyes.

“You're Waiting for him aren't you, youngin?” she asked, her voice mixing within the cold fog like a dream. “Mn,” he hummed softly, agreeing, waiting for him for as long as he could remember. “I supposed that couldn't be helped,” she said, hands gently placed into her lap, looking back at him.

A tear fell down dropping into the bedding of crystal water, breathing Lan back into living.
