7 Things Only People Cutting Weight Will Understand

Dieting and exercising for weight loss is seldom as fun as trying to gain weight. A lot of smart coaches advise that if you’ve been competing for less than a year, you shouldn’t cut at all — you should focus on building a base for competition.
But if you have good reason to cut weight, generally speaking, it’s best to start about a month out…

158.3lbs
It’s not quite the end of September but thought I would write down how I am feeling about this month fitness wise. . .
In a word, discombobulated. I’ve gained 4 pounds since being at my lowest weight (154 pounds) during our trip to NYC.
Four pounds sound like too much buuuuut this is exactly how I gained weight in the first place. Before you know it, I will be on the north side of 160 pounds. Thinking about the last few weeks (see below) I did a lot of things right but overall felt off my game and ate too much.
I also had the period from hell which didn’t help.
Good news:
Still walking 6-7 times a week.
Even running 2-3 times a week. (I have opted out of running the local 5K cause KIIP Level 2 is starting up. This time around I want to have my head in the game and I will already be missing a class for my Hula performance.)
Attending Hula twice a week to get ready for our performance later this fall.
Consistently eating breakfast and more fruits and veggies (at least one serving at breaky and lunch. On average. . .3 or more servings per day)
Not so good news:
Hula was cancelled 2 or 3 times this month and I didn’t practice on my own.
Totally forgot about doing the 108 bows.
Haven’t started 21 Day Fix (again). . .I just want to be outdoors! And the sun is rising later and later. . .I seriously have to change my workout schedule but I fall asleep by 9pm the latest most nights. Wah! I don’t want to work out in the eves. (I am a morning person and am usually up and at ‘em before 5am)
Dinnertime is out of control. I am eating way too much fried food. My Beloved knows how much I love 파전 (pajeon) and I swear to you he made it 3 times this week. And we probably ate samgyeopsal twice this week. . .
On the Bright Side:
This morning, I went for a walk with my guy. Mixed it up a bit by walking up and down inclines and some stone steps. Afterwards, I practiced Hula for about 20 minutes. And I have Hula practice this eve.
I know what I need to do to improve and get healthier. It’s a process.
