Narnia Fic Exchange Author Reveals!

Hurrah! Happy author reveals, everyone!

I wrote two fics this year!

For @syrena-of-the-lake, I wrote a museum-verse story called Narniatainment.

Summary: The Narniatainment website brings you the latest pop culture news daily.

Excerpt:

Exclusive: ‘The Stone Table’ remake casts Ildasin Tarkeena as White Witch The speculation is over: Ildasin Tarkeena has won the role of the White Witch in the upcoming remake of cult classic ‘The Stone Table.’ The Calormene native is an inspired choice for the role, previously known for playing Queen Aravis in ‘Pevensies.’ While detractors may object to this casting, director Tim Birdton stands firm on the decision to cast an actress without giantess blood: “Height can be added in post.”

And for animus, I wrote an explanation for what happened to Lucy's dagger: A Tale of Two Cities.

Summary: Lucy’s gifts are for healing.

Excerpt:

A sob wracked the faun’s body, and he bent over his son again in anguish. Lucy looked from him to the fox, who was following her across the stream-bed. “What happened to the dwarves? Are they sick?” The fox paused, staring up at her gravely. “There have been rumours of sickness among the dwarves of Hollow Hill for some time, Your Majesty.” “How long ago was this?” asked Lucy. What she really meant was, Why was I not told until now? “When a dwarf grows ill in these parts, few pay any heed,” said the fox carefully, “and those that do say good riddance.”  Lucy’s face grew stony as he spoke.

The Four are newly established in Narnia and, as all new reigns go, need help in the business of ruling. Daphne, an aspen dryad from the Western Woods, doesn’t have much to offer but answers their call. She befriends the dark-haired radiance of Queen Susan of Narnia, where they forge a friendship — and maybe something more.

In another world, Daphne Smith and Susan Pevensie have never met.

(Or have they?)

Either way, Daphne’s memories are a familiar phantom, and Susan is haunted by the face of her dead lover reborn in another world.

In the end, they'll always meet again. Even love can transcend the boundaries of worlds.

Raw (2016)

Part of a wave of films dubbed the New French Extremity, this film does not hold back on that front.

Like its peers, it is beautifully shot and edited together. It feels like you’re watching an arthouse drama film that has been tinged with intense horror and brutality.

And when it gets into the nitty gritty, it really does not hold back. The makeup work is absolutely incredible and at times made me feel very uncomfortable going on nauseated (especially the scene with the hair; you’ll know it when you see it)

If you’re into fucked up French horror, this is a very enjoyable movie.
