To all Pupils and Artists whom may concern: Official Invitation to #LISZTOBER

Your Contribution is to be accepted in any creative and artistic Medium, such as: Drawings, Sketches and Paintings; Stories or Tales, Poetry, or any Written and Spoken Word; and, as in itself best fitting for the Recipient: Music; Songs, Componiments, Sheet Music and or Cylindrical Recordings. Also welcome come the Practical Arts of Sewing, Stuffing, Sculpture and Animating.

Dates with Asterisks near their Suggestion entail Anniversaries and Historical Happenings in the Month of October. Especially Noteworthy is the 22nd of October, for known Reasons. Your Partecipation is encouraged and invited. Maestro F. Liszt will answer to your submittals, no matter how humble, and reward your Will to Contribute.

Immediate actions. PREPARE YOUR DISCORD ACCOUNTS. The keys to our new house will shortly be ready. Each pupil will get one.

Such as in the actual School, I will supervise & conduct our rooms.

As suggested by our Honorable Students @jenniedrawsandroleplays and @elektrischemaidchen, the tea room of our house will be the place in which we also fantasize & organize to see each other face to face.

Good Evening, all my dearest friends.

As following a rather dim emotional episode, and needing a time to be reassured in our Faith, I have briefly returned to Rome as a way to find solace, and recover a living image of places which come now to mind only as memory.

In this time I also more than ever expect and accept conversation, questions and divertissements in Italian as to restore my knowledge of the language.

I have spent in Rome many years of my life and many autumns too - sometimes the most troublesome.

Hello Maestro! I told you once that I sing in the university choir. I have always admired and admire our conductor... You also had a period in your life when you conducted an orchestra, right? How is it? Did you like being a conductor? Tell me all about it.

Good evening my dear pupil.

I am a conductor as much as a musician - but, more than that, a composer.

I have been Kapellmeister for ten years in Weimar, from 1848 to 1858, although the place had been reserved for me in 1842, under Carl Friedrich. In many occasions I have directed for this or that event, in the period of my life which separates the years of travelling from those of teaching.

Guiding an orchestra is as leading people to war, albeit only spiritually, and governing their souls at the same time; no matter the caricatures or the divertissements on my person as conductor, enjoying it deeply, I only feel limited and sorrowful in that when words cannot drive my intention to my musicians. In Weimar they remember me still. I should have a picture somewhere...

Dear Maestro, I have a problem. I was promised a solo in the choir. I waited eagerly for the opportunity and worked hard... and when it came, it turned out that the conductor didn't take me. She took a completely inexperienced person with a similar voice, who brazenly fawned over her. I feel like my heart has broken. I feel like useless garbage and I want to end my singing career... Do you think this is fair? Is fawning up more important than talent and hard work?

My dear pupil,

Life seldom delivers what you were promised. At least, at a first glance, and to our understanding. You would be in the wrong to value a disappointment - one of the uncountable ones you will experience, both in your life and as a musician - over your own passion and expertise. Defend yourself and your practice or your blooming talent. You have much to learn and more to go through! Promises, anyways, never mean a fact.

If it may reassure you, remember that the Conservatory of Paris took in only French citizen apart from extraordinary talents which would count as exceptions. I was not a French citizen. Not only that, I was not considered talented enough to register as one of the few lucky foreigners. Thus Franz Liszt never studied at a Conservatory. Make of this what you will & good luck for your upcomings as a musician!
