Pizza Eye Girl
Born to an affluent family, Sapphira Heroncourt’s life had been determined for her before she was even old enough to walk. Her family had a literal life plan arranged for her, deciding how she would spend her time, the company she would keep, the hobbies she’d indulge in, and which young man of noble bearing she’d marry once she turned 19. On the eve of her wedding, she ran away from home, seeking a life of her own choosing. Years spent on the road without any friends to turn to, relying only on the kindness of strangers as she wandered from town to town, yet never once did Sapphira long for the comfort of home. Her life changed when she met Sadie, a violinist who busked at the park in the last town she came to. Enchanted by her music, such full of joy and spirit-lifting melodies, Sapphira remained in town and visited the park every evening just to watch her play. On the third day, Sadie noticed her. She turned out to be just as kind as her music. She invited her to become her roommate and helped Sapphira get a job serving at the local pizzeria where she worked. Life was finally good for Sapphira. But then one day, Sadie was involved in an accident. She didn’t make it. Distraught over the loss of her closest friend, Sapphira found very small comfort in clearing through Sadie’s belongings, till she discovered a stack of manuscripts - songs that Sadie had apparently written but never performed yet. Sapphira felt it her duty to continue where Sadie had left off. She was a beginner at best with the violin, from the few lessons she was forced to take when she was younger. Deciding that she needed to do whatever it takes to continue Sadie’s work, she sacrificed her eye in order to gain the ability to play the violin as well as Sadie did. And thus, a new face was seen at the park that evening, bringing the same kind of joy and life through song as there always had been.
