OMIGOD, GUYS, apparently there's a film out there ("From Hell", 2002) that features someone playing Joseph Merrick, full-body, IN COLOR. I MUST SEE IT.

When I first moved here, some kids were talking about "KayDee" during class. I had no freakin' clue what they were talking about. "What do you mean you don't know what KD is? What kind of childhood did you have?!"
Turns out they were talking about good old mac'n'cheese.
This was also the day that I realized that people here spread cheez-wiz on toast/bagels for breakfast. WTF.
(Also: duotangs and scribblers had my whole family baffled. Duotangs are paper binders (for reports, etc.) and scribblers are ultra-thin and flimsy 3-hole notebooks.)
