My top 6 most depressing songs
I use music as a mood-booster and have always hated sad songs, which is probably why I’ve always avoided country music. Today I realized that most of the songs that I found to be depressing when I was a kid and teenager all had to do with not being able to be with the person you love, for one reason or another, and/or death (with the exception of #4). To this day if they come on the radio I immediately change the station. If you’re in the midst of a sad breakup, grieving a loss, or just not feeling too emotionally stable at the moment, avoid listening to these songs at all cost.
I’ve listed them in order of how depressed they made me feel (LOL):
1. Diary - Bread
2. Seasons in the Sun - Terry Jacks
3. Same Auld Lang Syne - Dan Fogelberg
4. At Seventeen - Janis Ian
5. Ode to Billy Joe - Bobbie Gentry
6. El Paso - Marty Robbins
And my number one WEIRDEST song of all time:
Angie Baby - Helen Ready -- I’m mean really...WTF?
Songs that you have to hear once in your life
I Like Trucks Wild Montana Skies Breakfast At Tiffany’s Snake Farm That’s The Way That The World Goes ‘Round
Yes, they are old and weird songs, but once you hear them you will agree with me.
