Known to some in New Zealand as ‘Worstport’, Westport isn’t much to write home about. The main attraction is the lighthouse at Cape Foulwind (that’s its actual name), which is actually a pretty nice walk. The town itself is pretty weird, built on mining and fishing 150 years ago and it hasn’t really progressed too much since then. But you know that we like to make the most of things, so we checked out all the cool old art deco buildings and found a beer and burger deal. For Westport, that was pretty much living the high life! The next day was a loooong drive as we headed down to the glaciers, stopping at the cool Pancake Rocks on the way. Not so much pancake-like as big-rock-in-the-ocean-like, but pretty cool nonetheless!
