Nora Is Weird

There’s a time we talk about useless things but there’s also a time when we have deep and serious conversation. The One and Only Friend

“I promised something to your father,” said Seunghyun.

“What?”

“To make you happy.”

Nora stares at Seunghyun deeply. “For a second, my heart fluttered.”

“I’m not joking about it.”

“Me too.”

“About what?”

“My heart.”

“Why?”

“I don’t know. Do you think I can handle my own heart?”

“You’re right.” Seunghyun adjust his position again to more comfortable. He finally laid back with Nora followed him. They don’t sit too close but also not too far. When they’re turning to each other, their face could almost touch each other but there’s still a little space between them.

“So,” while looking at Seunghyun, Nora asked, “What are you going to do to make me happy?”

Seunghyun pointing himself. “With my existency.”

Nora chuckled. “Your existency makes my head sometimes going to explode.” Before Seunghyun reply her back, she said again, “But you already makes me happy.” And she smiled.

Seunghyun’s hand suddenly stopped. He had this urge to touch Nora’s face when she smiled as she said that he make her happy. He doesn’t know why. He just wanted to do that.

“No, that’s not enough,” Seunghyun let his thought out without he realized.

“What do you mean?” asked Nora serious.

Seunghyun get silent for a while. Then he said in a serious tone, “You need your own family. I mean your family. You understand, right?”

Nora smirked as she turn her face and watch the ceiling. “You mean marriage? It’s not an easy thing. You know that already.”

“I know. That’s why I regretted to promise your father something like that.”

“What?” Nora turns her head quickly to Seunghyun and squint her eyes.

Seunghyun shoved Nora’s leg with his lightly. “I’m kidding.”

Nora clucked. She got silent for a second before said, “I guess we really have to marry each other if we didn’t get married yet until 50, right?”

“Okay,” replied Seunghyun without thinking.

Nora laughs. She turns to Seunghyun, reached her hand to his head and taps it slowly. “You’re really such a kid, Seunghyun-ah.”

“You act as my nuna now?”

“No, I don’t want to be your nuna. Or your hyung.”

“Then what?”

Nora’s hand is still in Seunghyun’s head. Her fingers caress his hair. She never does that but neither she nor Seunghyun feel awkward about it. That is like the right thing to do but they don’t say anything. They are staring at each other like they are not going to see each other again. They were like sharing their feelings unspoken through their eyes. Deep and immersed feeling.
