"I'll never forget. That night, for the first time in 120 years, snow fell on Santa Destroy. It was a sign... Another change, both beautiful and deadly, was coming..."
A high-rise rooftop. Flat, featureless aside from the elevator entrance. Cradled on three sides by buildings higher still, one in particular host to a neon sign, reading “NO MORE HEROES 2: DESPERATE STRUGGLE.” This stage overlooked a wonderland of night-time city lights, highlighted further by the gently-falling snow.
How such a horrid place could host such beauty... It’s beyond me.
Not like you’d be appreciating it if you were actually there. For any average person, the only thing on that rooftop to matter would be the vicious battle playing out on it.
“Better go through the tutorial again!” So sneered Skelter Helter, fifty-first rank in the United Assassin’s Association. A walking parody of Cloud Strife, he was packing a large, 3-bladed energy sword and a... ludicrous revolver. We’re talking a ring of 12 six-shooters attached to a single magnum barrel. 72 fucking bullets. Wow. Skelter’s vocal tone was casual, but his eyes were cauldrons, filled to near-burst with insane hatred.
For what? For the man in front of him. For the man swatting away Skelter’s latest burst of ammunition with nothing more than his trusted beam katana, Blood Berry. Swatting the bullets into falling snowflakes, I should add. Probably would look amazing, if this was animated. But I digress.
“Killing a guy like you is a tutorial for me!” Travis Touchdown yelled, before he charged forward with a mighty swing. Just going through the motions...
What was an onlooker to do, in a simulation such as this?
