How long has it been since that day; where he and his friends fought one last time? How many years since he died defending his friends under the broken moon? How long it took Jaune to accept being reborn as a Honedge in this new world? Now as an Aegislash, reflecting on what once was and currently is, came across an odd sight. A group of Pokemon; scared and confused. What was odder was what they called themselves, names he hasn't heard in so long. Could they really be... (Mystery dungeon style)
Jaune was tired, more so than usual, he'd been through a lot these last few years. Even now there was a part of him that hardly believed any of this was real. A bit of denial in which he honestly thought he was in some kind of hell, or was trapped by a relic of some sort.
But... that was just a small part of him, he knew, he understood that everything was real. That he wasn't on Remnant anymore, that with his dying breath, the last breath he'd given to help his friends. He was transported to another world.
It took him far longer than he'd like to admit, that this wasn't his world that he wasn't a human anymore. That he was... that he had been a sword and a sheathe, then a pair of flying swords, now a giant sword and a shield.
"I swear this is some kind of irony..."
He'd dwelled on that thought for far too long in the past. To a dizzying level.
Regardless he'd moved on, and gotten used to the life. Had even joined a guild! That had been a surprise, seeing various ani-Pokemon, joining together and banding as friends and allies. Unfortunately he'd never gotten to be part of a team, half because there were no available spots, and half because he himself had willfully stayed alone.
He missed his old friends, even as the memories of their times together faded, he still held onto a sense of longing.
Regardless, today was just another routine mission, he'd heard about a few strange folk showing up recently confused and lost. So before any wild mon's could do anything untowardly to them, he'd taken the quest to make sure they were safe and brought back.
It wasn't that Ms. Audi was trying to push him to form a team or anything... she totally was. Regardless, he lived to help those in need.
So... low and surprise when he came across a group of confused mons, piling atop one another for safety. From the stories he'd heard they'd been confused, shocked, and terrified.
Three mons rabbled around one another, a small Pikachu, a shivering Snowrunt and a excited, yet fearful Budew. Together they seemed to be trying to keep one another safe, their eyes transfixed on location to location making sure no one could sneak up on them.
Jaune wondered quietly to himself, 'Why are they so scared?'
Of course, the fear in their eyes helped put him on guard, who knew if there was a dangerous pokemon around, if there was he'd have to get ready for combat.
He called out to them, trying to gain their attention.
Unfortunately he did, unfortunately because they started to panic.
"GAH! A giant flying sword! It's going to cut us all up and dice us into little bits!" The budew was the first to panic clear terror in it's... oddly familiar voice.
"Si...silence Ruby! We have to keep it together... It looks like it could smell our fear, we need to get away now." The Snowrunt, which also sounded rather familiar told it's partner. Ruby??? That... that couldn't be.
"You're right Weiss!" The Budew turned its attention back to him, "Go away you monster! We don't want to fight but we will!"
Now things were getting all too familiar.
His single eye turned towards the Pikachu, who watched him carefully. She was a strange one... her eyes were a soft turquoise and...
Which caught their attention, more specifically the Pikachu who pulled herself from the group, "Ja...Jaune?!"
"That' cant' be Jaune Nora! He... he'... he's dead..." The Snowrunt, Weiss... seemed almost heart broken by the very thought.
Ruby the Budew said nothing instead of looking down.
he couldn't believe it... they were... they...
"It's really you guys. Ruby, Weiss, Nora... why... why are you here?"
Jaune floated on over, moving at a steady slow pace.
Ruby and Weiss backed up but Nora took a step forward. "It really is you!"
Nora dashed forward, or tried to, but ended up stumbling over as she wasn't used to walking around on four legs. However, before she hit him face first, he reached out with his tassle arm and stopped her, pulling her up.
His eye glowed for a moment as he applied foresight. He could see her soul, her very being. "It really is you... but... but you guys are... no..."
"Jaune! Oh Jaune it is you! Fearless leader!"
He could tell Nora wanted to hug him, but well... he was a flying ghost sword now so that made things harder. Instead he wrapped his tastle around her to emulate a hug.
"Years! I can't believe it! You're here, but you're a giant sword! What's going on?!"
It was obvious she was both excited, scared, and kind of surprised.
Ruby and Weiss had finally taken the bravery to move forward...
"Jaune?" Weiss stared at him, both enamored and... and a little afraid, afraid that it wasn't really him.
She took a step forward, as he lowered himself into the ground, putting his shield portion down. "Hey Ruby."
"Jaune!" Ruby tackled him over, thankfully not hitting the bladed part, and instead clinging to his eye.
He took a deep 'breath' this was going to take a lot of catching up to do.
