The final scene of The Welcome Table A brass band and second line made its way from The Music Box Village up to the levee to the end of the world. Camera crews and drones caught the action as we danced our way to our places at the thousand food table, decorated with a patchwork of colors. We did a few takes, and sang The Welcome Table song. Once the crew got their shots we all headed back to the Music Box for red beans and rice. Globally, it is estimated that 1 in 3 people will be displaced because of climate change. Nine migrants from different parts of the world told their story and joined us at the table. The idea is that “when you have more than you need, you shouldn’t build a higher wall, you should build a longer table,” to welcome those in need.
