When or if I started shipping it:

I always kinda liked the idea of the two of them together, and it was part of my headcanon universe that Finn was secretly in love with Seth, though Seth (most likely) didn’t feel the same. I even wrote a fic with that dynamic. But earlier this year, during their feud for the IC title, I really, really started to love this ship. It was quite recently that Ballins became my new ultimate otp uwu. 

My thoughts:

My gosh, how good is their dynamic? The friendly rivalry between them over the IC title was so unique and refreshing to see in WWE. Their whole story revolved around healthy competitiveness, with the two of them always trying to one-up each other, finding themselves evenly matched, almost uncannily so. They enjoyed going up against each other (their kayfabe characters as well as the real guys), and they brought out the absolute best in each other. Each one of their matches? 5*, 6*, 7*, ALL the stars. They have such good chemistry, and there’s a kind of warmth between them that you don’t often see between WWE wrestlers. They’re at ease around each other. They’re friends, and it’s beautiful. 

What makes me happy about them:

First of all, their real life friendship is great. The fact they became friends while rehabbing from injury - and let’s not forget Seth was the one who injured Finn - is so cool and sweet. They support and respect and adore each other, and it makes me happy. :)

OH MAN, YOU READY FOR THIS? Okay, so, back to the fact that their relationship is healthy, and that warmth between them. Seth has been through a lot. He spent years under The Authority’s sway, and yes, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon were mentally and emotionally abusive. He fought to get out of that, to overcome that. And it’s left scars on him. Then there’s everything he’s been through with Dean and Roman. His relationships with those two men, his brothers (or lovers, if you’re multi-shipper trash like I am lol) are complex. His own actions, the things he did to hurt them, left scars on him as well. Dean and Roman have been good for him in many ways, but there will always be that shadow over them, the memory of what Seth did. Seth will always have to live with his guilt over that. (And now it seems like Seth and Dean will never have what they used to have. There’s too much hurt and hatred and distrust there.) 

With Finn there’s none of that. There’s no bad blood between them. Like I said, they’re at ease with each other. There’s trust there. Finn accepts Seth for who he is, accepts his flaws, his past. Finn just likes him for who he is. Finn looks at Seth with such genuine affection it makes me wanna cry. And that’s just so good for Seth? To have someone he can trust completely, someone who loves him as he is? For Seth Finn represents not the past, but the future - and Seth’s always been about the future. That’s the thing about them that makes me so, so happy, and made them my new otp. Their relationship is good. I’m not hating on any ships here, all ships are valid and I ship Seth with pretty much everyone (listen, I shipped him with Lesnar once upon a time, I have no right to judge anyone), but Seth and Finn’s dynamic is so refreshing to me. It’s exactly what I believe Seth, the person he is now, deserves. And I think it’s exactly what Finn deserves, too. Someone who’s seen all sides of him, too, who’s seen him at his weakest and at his strongest, someone who supports him, who can bring out that fire in him. They’re good together, they’re good for each other, and that’s why I love them.

What makes me sad about them:

That they might never feud for the Universal title (or the WWE title!) like I want them to. :(

Things done in fanfic that annoys me:

LISTEN, BALLINS FANDOM, I am here to tell you that Seth Rollins is not, and will never be, a top. It is law.

Okay, okay, but seriously, I haven’t read that many Ballins fanfics yet, so I haven’t really discovered anything that annoys me (except making Seth top; seriously, have you seen the boy?). I’m sure I will, no fandom is perfect, but so far so good I gotta say. 

Things I look for in fanfic:

Please refer to the essay I wrote about the things that make me happy about them. I just like to see their dynamic done justice, y’know? 

My kinks:

My biggest Ballins kink is Demon Balor protecting Seth. That’s the whole premise behind my fic “Halo of the Dark” and my fantasy fic, lol. I just love the idea of Finn being protective of Seth. Also…demon sex, anyone? ;)

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other:

Roman for Seth. Maybe Sami for Finn? I’ve always thought they were really cute. :3

My happily ever after for them:

They get married and live in Ireland and have cute dogs and live happily ever after. The end. :)

The joy of co-writing is that you see your writing partner write something so damn good that you wish you'd written it yourself, the sheer skill with words and pacing, the image painted, holy shit

1. Roman’s first impression of Tyler is that he’s bratty, spoiled, vain, and shallow. Tyler’s first impression of Roman is that he’s uptight and way too hot for anyone’s good.

2. Tyler is one of the two people allowed to touch Roman’s hair whenever he wants (the other is Roman’s baby girl); Tyler loves taking care of it with the products he uses for his own hair or getting special stuff for it

3. Roman really loves Tyler best when Tyler’s working with shelter animals. No flashy outfits, nothing showy, just a faded tee and old jeans and him playing with the pets, cleaning up after them without any fuss. It’s the real Tyler Breeze without all the glitz and glamour

4. Tyler worries that Roman will hate the paparazzi and the publicity that accompanies the Breezy life, but Roman’s natural charisma and firm handling of boundaries manages to both win them a measure of privacy and a lot of shippers. 

5. Roman becomes a meme when he carries Tyler on piggyback across a muddy puddle (Tyler was wearing his new boots). Seth saves his favorites and trolls them every now and then with the memes
