Gamma Ray & Resistivity Logs As petroleum engineers, Gamma Ray (GR) and Resistivity logs are fundamental tools for subsurface characte
Key Interpretations from the Attached Log:
•Gamma Ray (Track 1): Identifies lithology. Low GR indicates clean sand (our reservoir), while high GR points to shale.
•Resistivity (Track 2): Differentiates fluids. High resistivity signifies hydrocarbons (oil/gas), and low resistivity indicates water (brine)
•Integrated Analysis (Track 3 - Porosity Logs): Combining GR and Resistivity with porosity logs allows us to precisely identify fluid contacts (Gas, Oil, Brine) within the sand interval Notice the distinct responses for Gas (high resistivity, density/neutron crossover), Oil (high resistivity, less crossover), and Brine (low resistivity)
•These logs are our eyes into the reservoir, enabling accurate fluid contact identification and optimal hydrocarbon recovery
