Nailed it.
Mr. SK: So, what do dudes mean when they say a woman should "be flattered" to get attention from a dude she doesn't want attention from in the first place? I don't get it. What do they think they're saying?
Me: They're men who think women can't feel good about themselves unless a man validates their existence. They think women should be flattered because men are acknowledging them and that a man coming back after a woman tells him she's not interested should flatter her further because he is still trying to give her attention.
Mr. SK: So, dudes who have low self-esteem who assume that all women have low self-esteem.
Me: Yup. Good insight.
Mr SK: Well, I used to be one.
Mr. SK: When I was 17.
Mr. SK: And I have the good sense to be embarrassed about it.
