HOW TO GET GRAY HAIR:
If your hair is on a level 1-6 you will have to lighten your hair using bleach or one ‘n only color fix (they both get the job done) the only difference is that Color fix is safer in my opinion because it does not contain any bleach, ammonia or any harsh chemicals that will damage the hair like bleach process would do. (IF ITS YOUR FIRST TIME USING HAIR BLEACH MAKE SURE TO READ AND FOLLOW DIRECTIONS) Always put gloves on before bleaching or dying hair. It is important to be very cautious when bleaching your hair. Don't leave the bleach in for too long, unless you want your hair to melt off and go bald (you don’t). Do not bleach more than once in a day. Black hair typically only needs 3 applications when using 20 volume developer. The lowest strength is 10v, then 20v, 30v, and 40v developer is the strongest level for normal processing.
For more information on bleaching, see the bleaching guides on this site by clinking the links down below.

For bleach mixture I used 2 scoops of powder and 4 oz creme 20 developer, I left it in for about 20-30 min. then rinsed hair 3 to 4 times with warm to cool water.
To remove brassiness from hair, I applied a hair toner by WELLA T18 all over the hair & left it in for about 30 min. then I rinse hair with warm/cool water. I dry hair using a blower on a low heat temperature to prevent hair from burning, or split ends. | You can let hair air dry (optional). After the hair was dry completely I went ahead and dye hair with WELLA 050 cooling violet hair dye using 20v developer 2:4 (2 parts of hair dye & 4 parts of 20v developer). I left it in for about 30 to 45 min. then I rinsed hair with shampoo & deep conditioner. Hope this was helpful for you, I will be leaving another link below for extra information if needed.

so i used the wella 050 and it worked pretty well
So I bleached and then toned my hair with wella 050 and it's....a lot darker then I was hoping but I'm not panicking. Nope, no panic at all. Deep breaths.
I'll post pictures when I style it with product later.
