A friend had a rant on Facebook towards someone and I couldn't help myself but to step in
Dani: This message is targeted at someone that will probably read this which is what I want. Yes I am broke, yes I don't work. But I do spend all of my money that I get on concerts who I absolutely love and who inspire me. It gives me a thrill, just like sports give you a thrill. You spend hundreds of dollars on your hobby, well so do I. It makes me happy, it makes me want to stay alive. It keeps me going. So stop complaining that 'we have no money' we can do what we like with our own money, we are adults and if it makes us happy then get over it. Music is our life.
Tay: Concerts give you something to look forward to, and the whole experience is amazing and worth every cent too! Don't listen to the haters :)
Dani: Exactly! I love counting down the days to something happening in my life :) thanks Tay xx I hope your girl is okay
Tay: Haters are probably just jealous that you get to go to all these concerts she's getting better thank you I'm spending another night in hospital with her x Hope you and Jody are well
Dani: Haha yeah they are just jealous and that's good to hear, awwwwh that's so sweet of you! Give her my love and we are thank you xx
Me: I don't want to sound like a downer or a person to lecture or something especially since this isnt my business or message directed at me but reading this status i have to say something so you have no money and no job how exactly are you paying for these concerts? and shouldn't you put your money somewhere toward something that can help you get a job like courses or short courses or transport to interview or appropriate clothes if needed to buy for a job? and if your getting your money from the doll don't you think you should be wasting tax payers money that pay for your doll to give yourself luxury evenings? and if your not on the doll and you getting your money from someone like your parents or partner wouldn't it be better to have your own money instead of receiving from them? like you said your an adult you should be supporting yourself and being independent like one
Dani: Wow. I'm actually on the sickness benefit and can't work full time. I have been getting a medical certificate for months now. I cannot deal in a fast food industry as I cannot cope and no where else is hiring. I am actually going to uni next year which is a first for me because I haven't done anything for almost a year. So who do you think you are for judging me. You know nothing. Plus, jody bought my Katy perry ticket for a early birthday present and I won the Veronica's tickets. So yes, this post is directed at her family. I'm the one that paid for BOTH of our vip lady Gaga tickets in Aussie which was 1 grand all up and I paid for them when I was working full time at the start of the year, and the other concerts I've been to. Yes I pay for them out of money I get from my grandma and my sickness benefit, they make me stay alive. So if you don't like what I do then delete me as a friend.
Me: I would like to point out that you worded your post as "...Yes I am broke, yes I don't work. But I do spend all of my money that I get on concerts..." that says to me that your on the doll and your using your money to spend it on luxury items like concert tickets and as a tax payer I have every right to judge you if I know that the tax payers money are paying towards someone who is jobless that using that money not to support themselves but to get items that make themselves temporary happy. As for there are no jobs there are 8502 jobs posted on seek and 5269 on trademe in Auckland or 2389 jobs on seek or 1955 on trade me in Wellington so I think people are hiring
Tay: She did point out in the post that she hasn't been the one to buy all her tickets.. She won some, Jody bought her some and she bought her Lady Gaga tickets when she was working. I work too, but I don't judge people who are on the benefit unless it's getting spent on drugs. It's okay for Dani to go to concerts. Just because you're a beneficiary doesn't mean that she can't partake in fun things too. That's a little judgemental Ben. Dani isn't well enough to work, she can't work until she's better.
Me: Yes she might of said she got a birthday present and won the tickets but i pointed out that i thought that she bought them herself with doll money just for the fact that she said "...Yes I am broke, yes I don't work. But I do spend all of my money that I get on concerts..." and I'm mentioning the job thing because she said "...no where else is hiring..." so i countered what i said with well actually there are people here are the facts right here
and as for you the point of the beneficiary is to keep you going its to help you to pay for living expenses and "Just because you're a beneficiary doesn't mean that she can't partake in fun things too" but just as long as the beneficiary that they are on doesn't pay for the fun things because that's not what the beneficiary is there for. A benefit for people who are unfit to work, going between jobs or can't make enough money to go towards there basic needs and the basic needs are food, water, shelter, clothing and warmth anything else the money goes to is against what the benefit is actually for so as she said "... Yes I pay for them out of money I get from my grandma and my sickness benefit..." that is wrongful using of the benefit money that is wrongful using of taxpayers money
