eOffice Partners with WELLNESS17 to Promote Healthier and Smarter Working
Your health is your wealth, it’s as simple as that. Mental health and wellness has become a hot topic of conversation in our fast-paced world and so has the link between the workplace and well-being.
The rise of interest in wellness at work and implementing health programs in the workplace has become a vital piece of a healthy lifestyle. Companies are taking employee wellness more seriously and are implementing health programs to avoid toxic working environments and promote a healthy workforce.
Unhealthy work environments lead to a decline in the overall health of employees who are increasingly being diagnosed with chronic diseases such as depression and hypertension. Simultaneously, hostile working environments contribute to an increase in health-related expenses for employers and employees, and lead to lower productivity and days of work missed.
Ideally, the workplace should be a place protecting the safety and well-being of employees while providing them with opportunities for better long-term health. Companies should become more health-conscious and incorporate wellness programs and perks to lower absenteeism, attract talent, and save on healthcare costs.
Conferences and events promoting health and well-being at work are being organised to raise awareness of the importance of wellbeing in the workplace. Such is the case of WELLNESS17, an event built on the success of Unwired’s WORKTECH series of conferences encompassing all aspects of wellness including mind, body and spirit and addresses some of the most interesting and challenging subjects in the field.
To promote well-being and tackle the causes of work-related health problems, eOffice has joined forces with Unwired to promote WELLNESS17 and offer special rates to attend.
UNWIRED also organises events and produces reports on all aspects of work, workplace, technology & innovation. The wellness conference is coming back to London for the second-year in a row and will take place on Tuesday, September 5th, 2017 at Credit Suisse, 5 Canada Square in Canary Wharf.
This will be an opportunity to meet leading thinkers, industry strategists and academic visionaries, learn and exchange viewpoints on topics such as the stigma of mental health in the workplace, the role of nutrition at work, today’s fast-changing technology, the effects of the work environment on a person's well-being, and how design influences the workplace experience.
Confirmed speakers include Tom Savigar, Chief Growth Officer at The Future Laboratory; Adam Spreadbury, Co-chair of the Bank of England’s Mental Health Network; Designer Oliver Heath; Aidan Walker, Director of Aidan Walker Associates; Simon Williams Head of Business Change Project Management for TfL Programme; Kate Cook, Author of the Corporate Wellness Bible and UK’s Leading Nutrition and Wellness Expert, Dr Almuth McDowall, Head of Department and Senior Lecturer in Organizational Psychology at Birkbeck University; and Ali Ganjavian, Co-Founder of Studio Banana, among others.
