It wasn’t just her own parents she had to explain her actions to. Kiara also need to convince Ben and his parents that Kovu and Kopa be allowed to stay -- as the princess had brought them over to Auradon without any sort of formal invitation. And while the Pridelands were under her father’s purview, the rest of Auradon was not.

Waiting until she was announced, Kiara stepped into the Queen’s library, curtsying as she did so. “Your Majesty. Thank you for agreeing to see me.” From what she knew of Ben, the young King was a lot like his mother. So it seemed only logical to start with her. If Kiara could get Belle to agree, then Ben would surely agree as well.

All they wanted was a second chance...

Now this would certainly be an interesting one; she started off with slightly narrowed eyes, a lightly mischievous smile upon her lips.  “Hey, uh---  what do you call birds that stick together?”  Clearly, there were no birds in existence that stuck together, but jokes weren’t meant to be real.  They were meant to provide laughter!

“Is this a bad time?” He asked, introducing himself to the sunlit office as he poked his head in the door.. Easing his way in, he offered the woman sitting at the desk a card between his middle and index fingers.

“Adrian LeFou. I work in public relations and I've come to understand that you're working on a biography that, while my client isn't the focus, might have some implications that she and I would both rather not...come to the fore.” 

He stopped to take a breath and consider his words. No matter how often he did this, he always had to take the time to consider his script. Unless he really believed in whoever he was representing -- then it was easy. But those clients were few and far between.

Smiling to the woman at the desk, he finished, punctuating his  a statement with various  I open gestures. “I was hoping to get an idea of what details you might have that affect her and, if necessary, bring her interpretation of events to light. It shouldn't take much time.”

“And here I had begun to think you had run away.” Adam mused. “Well, I hadn’t though you’d run away... the servants did, but I figured I might take part of that blame.” A smile tugs at his lips as he walks in, rubbing at his eyes for a moment. “I was starting to believe if I had to read one more piece of political paperwork I was going to lose my mind.”

Taking a seat beside her, he takes a small glance at her. “How has your day fared? Probably better than mine.”

He had wanted to keep her close during this one, far more for his own reasons than any professional. It was the way that her dress had scooped down her back, only beginning to cover the pale expanse of skin at the dimples of her lower back. The fact that the blue gown fit her like a glove.

None of the reasons Adam wanted to keep her close during this mission had any valid or logical basis. But that didn’t stop him from hooking his arm around her waist and holding her close as they navigated the room together. 

“Do you see him?” Adam whispered in her ear as he scanned the room. “Or her?” He took a quick sip from his flute of champagne as he pretended to make it look like he was whispering sweet nothings to Belle. He wished he was.

He gave someone a lazy smile, glancing at some of the artwork on display for the evening, before looking back at Belle. She was beautiful and he hated it. Not so much that she was beautiful, but that there wasn’t anything he could do about it.

Adam stopped, glancing at the brunette who was horrified by his declaration of intent. He scowled a bit at the fact that she was interrupting him at all, particularly considering that he had been quite focused until she had inquired.

“You know, it isn’t a very desirable trait to question someone’s decisions, particularly when they are halfway through executing them.”
