“You wanna try running that by me again?”

Ralph was pretty sure he had left some of his case notes in the Cortex, and yet...they weren’t there. He hadn’t necessarily jumped to the conclusion that someone had intentionally taken them, but he was starting to think maybe there had been a mix up with someone thinking the folder was theirs.
When he heard footsteps from the entrance of the Cortex, he didn’t bother looking to see who had entered, instead he continued to try and find the folder. He did, however, speak to them, “Have you seen a couple folders with some papers in them lying around anywhere?”
”God, forgive me.” (what's this? is this Eobard actually asking for forgiveness for killing Nora? jghjsjhsj)

“ oh? do you think you deserve forgiveness? ”
this is the wrong fucking blog but i don't care! but i already have the feeling that Lucifer and Earth would get along. not well but in one way or another they'd get along.
probably? i mean earth is rather neutral when it comes to angel business ( he has more pressing matters to care about tbh ) and depending which lore you pick, lucifer seemed to be disdainful of human, yes, while liking the primary creation of his father ( earth, with the gardens, the trees, the climates etc ).
“Yell at me again, and I’ll give you a real reason to scream.” (Eo)

A reason... to scream? Hadn’t he already realized that he did give her a reason to scream. She wanted to rip her hair out that was how frustrated she was and all he could come up with to answer her with was that. It didn’t help that as she glared up at him, hesitating as she considered his threat, that she couldn’t tell how he meant it. It should scare her when it came to him, but it didn’t. If anything it just made her more angry.
“A real reason?” She said, her voice still raised despite his warning. “You don’t think you doing whatever you want and damn all the consequences? So go ahead, give me a real reason to scream!” she challenged, pushing against his chest as if that would make a difference. “Come on, make me scream”
“If you bite your lip one more time, I’m going to do it for you.” (Harry)

She hadn’t even realized she had been doing it. Focused on her computer screen for the last twenty minutes or so as she tried to figure out a better way to rewrite the program she was working on she had been alternating between playing with her hair and biting her lip as she thought and it wasn’t until Harry said something that she even noticed it. Releasing her bottom lip she pouted instead as she looked up at him and considered him for a moment. Pushing her chair away from the desk so she could stand and make her way over to him. Thinking the whole time as she considered now how best to respond to him.
A challenge was always fun right?
Standing close enough now she had to tilt her head back to look up at him she smiled innocently before answering with a question, “Is that a threat or a promise?” biting her lip again once she asked it.

Jerrie took a deep breath before stepping into the strange domed building. If she were to plunge headfirst into icy, stormy seas, it would have been much easier on her nerves. There were no security guards – at least, not any as far as the eye could see, which was strange thinking back on the place’s history. There also wasn’t a single soul in sight when she walked in – again, strange. Could it be there was a mistake and the facility hadn’t been repurposed and made safe again after the explosion? If so, why wasn’t it better guarded and how could she have gotten in so easily?
She shook her head. She had no time for more overthinking. She wasn’t sure how much time she’d have before her parents were home and/or the staff would notice she was gone, and that was a higher priority worry (that and the disappointment of wasting another day sneaking out and finding nothing). Still, she had to press on. Semper prorsum, as her lost brother would say when she was pried away from her books, when she longed for the ocean in winter, when school was too much, when Mama and Daddy were too loud, when darkness poured into her little world and dulled the light and she felt suddenly bereft in the real one, a strange and confusing place she often felt like she didn’t belong in.
She navigated the corridors until she came upon a room she figured was the core of the facility. There was a man sitting at one of the computers, a man she’d recognized as the head of the establishment and someone she’d seen with Hartley in a photograph in one of the articles she’d looked up on the library computer, someone who brought out a smile, a genuine one in him.
“Excuse me?” Jerrie called out, stepping closer to the man. “Excuse me, sir? I’m sorry to bother you and barge in like this without an appointment or something, but no one answered me when I called and there wasn’t anyone else here.” She shifted awkwardly and paused, rocking herself side to side ever so slightly and gently to calm herself. “I’m here to inquire about an employee of yours.” She reached into her messenger bag and pulled out a photograph – a misty seascape under a partly cloudy sunset where two figures in the foreground waded out in the water up to their ankles. The taller, a bespectacled young man playfully swooped forward to catch the smaller girl in his arms like a great bird while she shrieked with laughter. There was a light in his eyes -- and hers -- that seemed to have long since died out.
“I know,” she huffed. “Confidentiality and all, but since we’re family, I thought that maybe you could make an exception...Also, I saw your picture with him…in a news article from a while back.” She sighed and looked down, closing her eyes like a much younger girl willing herself to wake from a bad dream. She could feel her heart moving all the way up to her throat. “Please, I just need to know where he is. Is he still working here?”

It wasns't often that Felicity Smoak would be considered oblivious but in this moment she was. She was blissfully olivious to whatever it was that was causing him the turmoil that she could notice. It wasn't the first time she had seen him brooding though so she didn't think anything more of it than trying her best to brighten his day while she could. After all, what reason would she have right now to think any differently.
It was his words that surprised her more than anything. While she knew he loved her, she also knew he didn't just say it. Not randomly anyway. Tilting her head to the side, still looking up at him she gave him a curious stare. Studying him for just a moment longer before answering. "I love you too, but... are you alright?"
