Watch "#WeMakeEvents" on YouTube
Hi all! Not sure if many know but here in the UK the events industry has been hit super hard and without much help from the government-- the grant care package they "announced" is mainly comprised of loans and for heritage sites, meaning it doesn't help a lot of us. It also doesn't help any of the thousands of freelancers or those who have already been made redundant (like myself).
So if you can, please watch, spread the word and help support us, we're literally doomed if no help comes to us
gotninelives: Generally if we do our job right, you never see us. Today however, we need everyone to see us. We were the first to stop and will be the last to start. We’re calling on Congress to pass The Restart Act to provide our industry with desperately needed relief. Please visit wemakeevents.org to learn how you can help #redalert #redalertrestart #wemakeevents #extendpua
Nick, James, Felix and myself started a boy band to raise awareness. We still can't play a gig due to covid though. But all jokes aside, Our industry was the first to shut down and will be one of the last to reopen.
Usually you don't see any of us because we work to entertain and are barely seen by the public. Tonight however you will see us. We will be lighting up venues across the county in red from 9pm to midnight.
Live events employ over 12 million people.
Live events contributes over $1 trillion annually to the US economy.
95% of live events have been cancelled due to COVID-19.
96% of companies have cut staff and/or wages.
77% of people in the live events industry have lost 100% of their income, including 97% of 1099 workers.
Let Congress know we need them to get to work and pass the RESTART Act and extend PUA & FPUC.
yearsandyears Today we are supporting the #WeMakeEvents campaign and calling on the UK Government to support and provide financial aid to protect the live music industry. Nothing can come close to that magic, freedom and connectivity the audience and us feel at our live shows. It’s our incredible live team that make this magic possible working tirelessly behind the scenes with many different skill sets. Every artist knows how chaotic touring can be and how much we need the support of our touring team to keep things running smoothly and make us feel secure- we are like family. This industry is viable and vital, please join us in supporting….

fiservforum: Did you know? In order to execute @PanicAtTheDisco’s Pray for the Wicked Tour, we needed over 630 part-time staff & over 240 stagehands to create the event you enjoyed. With 17 trucks, 10 busses, and 95,000 lbs in rigging, this show gave us HIGH HOPES for future events at Fiserv Forum. But live events have completely stopped. We need help. The Restart Act would assist with the economic crisis the live events industry is facing. 🚨🚨 #wemakeevents #redalertrestart #extendpua
