Wendwilsonite is the magnesium analogue to roselite. In naturally grown wendwilsonite crystals a small proportion of magnesium is replaced by cobalt. The colour of the translucent to translucent crystals fluctuates between bright and dark pink to rose red, depending on the amount of cobalt, and the darker the more magnesium is replaced by cobalt.
