Did anyone else read the Webtoon Original Wendybird from about a year ago?
I bring this up in light of the new Peter Pan and Wendy movie. People are complaining about the changes they made, but a lot of these changes were already made in the pre mentioned webcomic and I don’t think anyone was complaining about that.
Aside minor changes like character’s appearance and gender, they expanded upon the world. The use of shadows alone is super cool. Peter himself is an actual dick but faces consequences. Hook is interesting, her crew is interesting. The Lost Kids are even more tragic. I truly recommend it.
Unfortunately, due to lack of engagement, it got cancelled. It ends on a frustrating cliffhanger and (spoiler alert) the flashfoward we see in the first episode doesn’t come back.
I do hope it gets a resurgence, but as it is, it’s a well expanded version of Peter Pan that needs more attention.
