I was glad to finally have Niua Fo'ou report back to me that the Aid I sent up has been installed and is in use. 1) Ham Radios for comms even in disaster conditions 2) Water Desalination machines to battle the severe water shortage/drought AND enough fuel to run them for a sustainable period. 3) Satellite Phone handsets that can dial Tongatapu or the world from anywhere to anywhere bypassing the local network. These are all climate disaster adaptive measures I've taken to ensure Niua Fo'ou is well placed should we suffer another volcanic eruption or tsunami. However I am concerned about conflicting reports I'm receiving about who is claiming they supplied what equipment and therefore who should get use of it. MEIDECC nor did the Govt Rep did NOT supply the Water Desalinators those were mine, purchased under my auspices, flown to Tonga by my team and we paid for their carriage to Niua Fo'ou. Thus my instructions remain to ensure all of Niua Fo'ou benefit from their usage including and especially the school and it's students whose Deputy Headmaster & Colleagues raised these concerns with me. The same goes for the HAM Radios and Satellite Phones. I already left some Satellite Phones in Tongatapu from my shipment for MEIDECC and Govt. So the ones I ensured finally made it to my estate are explicitly for Niua Fo'ou. For MEIDECC and the Govt Rep to Use but ALSO the school and students and whoever else needs them. A lot of work went into this from our team. I also have allocated an area from my estate for the school to plant crops on in Sparta and beyond and am extremely encouraged at their progress. This will eventually be commercial farming and we will this year be mass planting sandal wood in the areas you see being planted and farmed.
