In honour of chases fat phobia I have decided he bulks up in winter. Big chubby werechase. He has to stay fit because he’s a predatory animal- but he has a belly . He’s very squishy and cuddle-able.

Werewolves are very parentally-oriented. Cubs need to stay with their parents for longer than humans, usually for life. If their parents don’t take care of them, they’ll be heavily emotionally stunted. Due to the trauma and regression, they’ll imprint very easily.
Chase is very much regressed in beast form- like any normal werewolf he’s stable and grown up when human, but acts like a cub in beast form. He’s imprinted on house (by imprinted- not the ‘alpha wolf mate’ bullshit . he sees him as a father figure and thinks he’ll protect him. This leads to chase attempting to hide behind and crawl under house’s desk in beast form)
His biological dad didn’t love him, nor did his mother, and his werewolf brain has effectively removed his memories of parents from his brain in beast form. He genuinely thinks house is his dad and is confused why he’s not showing him affection (brushing his fur, petting over his ears, snout, back and tail, and handling his scruff )or protecting him. Poor guy just wants to feel safe and protected, but doesn’t know why he’s not small enough to curl up and be kept safe
House does not like this one bit. He doesn’t like being pounced on by a big slobbery werewolf. He doesn’t want to pet him or trim his claws or ruffle his ears about- he hides from chase when he’s transformed, not because he’s scared of the big carnivorous beast, but because he doesn’t want to be drooled on and treated like this overgrown furry’s dad.
No, this doesn’t mean chase is a big slobbery idiot golden retriever- he only acts like that to house since he’s imprinted. He’s very scared which shows up in aggression towards other people. He wouldn’t roll over and ask for belly rubs , nor would he try and cuddle you. He’d most likely snarl, try to get away, and if he can’t, he’d bite.
If you put your hand near his face he’ll probably chomp it off, he’s not very friendly to people he doesn’t know. But if he does know you, he’s a big friendly boofhead

He’s a good big boy, but don’t touch his paws. He will growl and could try to bite- he has bitten people before. His mother tried declawing him after Rowan left , but he was too big and strong in beast form for it to be successful, so it was just extremely painful but he keeps his claws. He hates having the paws touched because he thinks they’ll get mutilated again (his mother was not talented with the pocketknife she had).
He’s a big wolf and his weight fluctuates throughout the seasons, just like that of any other wolves. He almost doubles his lightest summer weight in winter.
One rule apart from the paw thing with wolf chase- if he has something, whether food , a toy, a random stolen object, don’t touch it. He’s a resource guarder and a very bad one at that. He will usually give a warning growl, but depending on the value of the item he’ll resort to biting very quickly. He resource guards mostly toys , especially plushies. He has to grow up fast to raise his baby sister after Rowan left so no toys for him in childhood- it’s sort of age regression. He likes carrying around his plushies in his mouth and has a plush pile at work- mostly things with squeakers. He loves plushies with different textures and sounds- give him a plushie that squeaks and he’ll be your friend forever.
Yes, he is technically a mobility aid service dog for house (house puts a vest on him and drags him around in public, mostly for the ego boost), and he doesn’t like it but whenever houses cane is out of order he’s forced to help anyway.

Chase’s lupus form is his optimal one- he only gains control of form switching at 30. Before that it was just uncontrollable violent shifts into the feral hispo form. Lupus is his preferred form though- he can just be big doggy and no one can make him do surgery or anything requiring a medical degree
