With me being a dog owner I can say with no doubt that brainy thinks clumsy is his owner when in weresmurf mode, literally he licks and pounce on clumsy in weresmurf mode like my dog does

((it’s since brainy and clumsy spend a lot of time together when brainy is a normal smurf, weresmurf brainy’s enhanced sense of smell can smell himself on clumsy and therefore recognizes that oh, i know him

((i think last weresmurf event, i mentioned that weresmurf brainy distinguishes people by smell, and clumsy smells like “[brainy], iron, and dirt.” the iron bit is from blood- clumsys constantly falling and getting hurt. the dirt is because he collects rocks which are very dirty most of the time.
