Amphibia Werewolf AU : Do the girls have any kind of wolf like traits/abilities when there in human form?
“Hey, Anne?”
“Mm?” She replied, not looking up from her phone. Marcy was pacing again, something she usually did when she was thinking hard about something.
“If you had a frogsona, what do you think your name would be?” Anne blinked once, twice. Her phone screen went dark.
“Uh…” before she could think too hard about that question, the door to Marcy’s caravan slammed open.
“You’ve got to hide me in here for a while.” Sasha didn't wait for an answer, just clicked the door shut behind her before barging in and pacing the room like a caged animal.
“Whoa, Sasha, what’s wrong?” Anne asked, pushing herself off the bed. Sasha was wearing a long cloak with the hood pulled low over her face, obscuring her features.
“I can't let Grime see me like this,” was the only answer she gave, and it wasn't directed at Anne. Marcy, who had been interrupted in her own pacing, now stood directly in front of Sasha, waiting until they bumped into each other to put both hands on her shoulders.
“You never start pacing unless you're really stressed out. What's going on? What don't you want Grime to see?” She could tell by the way Sasha recoiled from her touch, her face angled away, that whatever it was was pretty bad. Marcy let go and tried a more tactical approach, still making a point to stand in the center of the room. The caravan was small enough that Sasha couldn't slip around her, and turning around would only land her towards Anne and the bed. “You can stay here, but Anne and I have been hanging out and we're not leaving anytime soon. If you tell us what's going on, maybe we can help!”
“No. You'll just laugh.”
“C’mon, Sasha, it can't be that bad. You've looked gorgeous every day of your life, what could possibly have changed that?” As usual, Marcy’s lips were moving faster than her brain was, and by the time she registered the words that escaped them it was already too late. Sasha had stopped pacing, and Marcy was still standing in front of her, stiff as a board. She could've leapt across the room and kissed Anne for the way she interrupted the deafening silence between them. Wait what-
“Uh, Sash, there's something wiggling under your hood.” Marcy’s eyes snapped upwards to where Anne was pointing, desperate for a distraction. Sure enough, she saw two distinct areas of movement atop Sasha’s head. Marcy’s first thought was, of course, a pesky bug.
“Hold on, I got it!” She quipped, knowing she was the least squeamish of the three. She only wanted to help, after all. Before Sasha could react, Marcy was gripping at the edges of her hood.
“Wait, what are you-” She pulled downwards, and the hood fell away. It took Marcy a few moments to register what she was seeing. Rather than some oversized insect, two pointed ears were swiveling nervously from the top of her head, taking in every slight sound from the room. They flitted backwards when Anne gasped, her hands over her mouth. Sasha’s lips curled into a snarl.
“Okay then. Now you can see how horrible this is.” Marcy was still gaping, but there was an overwhelming urge to d’awww bubbling in her chest. Her face split into a grin, and Sasha's expression melted into one of bewilderment. No way Marcy was seeing this as a good thing.
“You think this is horrible?” She asked, confirming her suspicions.
“Yes!” Sasha groaned. “And that's not even the worst part!” She bent down and unclasped the buckles of her combat boots and with one swift movement slid one off and across the floor. As she was removing the other boot Marcy had enough time to process the sight before her. Sasha’s leg was coated in dirty blonde fur, and black claws were poking out from beneath the large paw she was standing on. Across the room, she watched Anne’s lips part into a silent o. Somewhere in her mind Marcy reasoned that gushing over her fuzzy friend probably wouldn't help matters, but on the other hand...
“Oh my goodness look at the little peets!” She cooed, unable to help herself. She crouched to the floor to get a closer look, and Sasha began to back away.
“Don’t you dare touch my peets! I mean feet! Argh!” Sasha roared. She twirled dramatically towards Anne before flopping face-first into the mattress. Anne was jostled into a standing position, and she craned her neck to stare in disbelief at Sasha below her. The cape she was wearing had bunched up after her fall, revealing a new feature either girl had yet to see. Marcy’s twinkling eyes followed its pendulum movement, mouth agape.
“Oh. My. Frog. You have a tail and it’s wagging!” Sasha’s ears flattened as Marcy squealed.
“Marcy.” She was concentrating hard on controlling her traitorous tail. It eventually stopped and drooped between her legs, only to slowly start moving again.
Gears were turning in Anne’s head, trying to come up with something to say that would placate the moping girl. But really, how could Sasha not appreciate how cute this look was?
“C’mon, Sash, it’s not that bad.” Anne carefully sat herself down on the bed at waist-level. Sasha’s twitching ears and short, soft breathing drew out some instinctive reaction in Anne, and before she knew it she was resting a hand on the top of Sasha’s head.
“What are you doing?” She mumbled into Marcy’s pillow.
“I dunno. It just feels… right.” Anne’s hand wasn’t moving, a silent request for permission. She hadn’t expected to get it, but Sasha still hadn’t moved, and she’d stopped grumbling. Anne carefully dug her fingers into the hair just behind Sasha’s ear, and began to scratch. Almost instantly, her tail lifted, wagging lazily back and forth. Marcy had her fists to her mouth, muffling her sounds of delight. She joined them both on the bed and leaned over Anne’s lap to pet Sasha’s head.
“Gah, I can’t get over it! You’re just so cute!” Anne chuckled bemusedly, reaching out with her other hand to tousle Marcy’s hair.
“You’re pretty cute yourself, Marbles.” Her hands froze in Sasha’s hair, and she flushed deeply.
“If one more person calls someone cute I’m going to throw up.” Sasha was finally sitting up, and when she did she managed to wedge herself between Marcy and Anne. The latter only got the hint after Sasha grabbed her hand and guided it back between her ears.
“I didn't tell you to stop.” Anne’s reaction was immediate, her eyes growing wide and her fingers tightening against her scalp. Sasha wasn't looking at her, but the bright pink dusting across her cheeks was impossible to miss. They froze like a pair of awkward statues, making it a point to stare at anything but each other. Only Marcy draping herself across both their laps was effective in snapping them out of it.
“Hey,” she drawled, drawing out the vowel until Anne was looking directly at her. Marcy took her other hand by the wrist and guided it towards the back of her head. “Pet me too?” Characteristic of Marcy in these kinds of situations, the request was enough to rouse Anne from her stupor. She rolled her eyes at Marcy’s antics, but her smile and her hand revealed she was more than willing to oblige.
Her other hand which had up to this point been unceremoniously stuck in Sasha’s hair began to move as she relaxed. While Anne still wasn’t willing to look Sasha directly in the eye, the head tilting subtly in her direction put her at relative ease. She smiled contentedly when she heard the telltale swoosh of a tail against fabric.
“Are you making fun of me, Marbles?” Anne didn’t realize how high she’d jumped until Sasha’s arm wrapped reassuredly around her shoulders. She sounded amused, but more distractingly, she sounded very close to Anne’s ear.
“No way. I think you’re onto something, actually.” She rested her cheek against Anne’s chest, allowing her better access to the mop of black hair demanding to be scratched. “This feels really amazing.”
“Wow, okay. I definitely don’t feel used at all right now.” She was joking, of course, but Marcy still sat up from her lap, draping her arms around Anne.
“Oh no, Anne! Do you want pats too?” She asked, her fingers tickling the back of her neck in anticipation. Anne could feel her ears growing hot again.
“Uh, no, that’s ok, I uh-” her jaw snapped shut when she felt two hands weaving simultaneously through her unruly locks. A sigh escaped her when someone’s fingers (she couldn’t tell whose) tucked a loose strand behind her ear. She fought the urge to clap a hand over her mouth, which was far easier with them already being preoccupied. Only when someone began scratching behind her ears did she finally relent to their touch.
“Okay, you were right. This is nice.” Marcy giggled from beneath her chin, and Sasha leaned closer until their temples were resting together.
“S’alright.” Anne actually snorted, a bold move on her part but it had been a while since she worried about how Sasha would react to teasing.
“You can't possibly be this demanding over something that's just alright.”
“Shut up before I bite your hand.” Fair enough. Sasha made no move to follow up on that threat, and Anne had no plans to stop scratching behind her ears. They all must have fallen asleep that way at some stage, because they were rudely awoken by a series of loud raps on the door.
“Fellow humans! Have you seen Sasha anywhere?” A booming voice queried. It was Grime.
“Nope!” Anne called out simply. Jolting awake, Marcy also chimed in.
“Nuh-uh, no Sasha here! Just me and Anne and our, uh, dog?” Sasha clapped a hand over Marcy’s mouth, shushing her insistently.
“...Right.” Grime left the caravan after that, not knowing what a dog is but knowing enough about human teens to decide he didn't want to find out.
“Marcy! What the hell was that?” Sasha hissed, releasing her mouth after a muffled answer began spilling from her hand.
“Sorry, I panicked!”
“So you decided to call me a dog?”
“Yes!” Anne sat up and put an arm around both of them, effectively shushing them both.
“You’re both being silly. Just relax, okay? He’s gone now.” With either hand she began carding through their hair again. Marcy melted instantly beneath Anne's touch, but Sasha was less than amused.
“You really think this is going to work every time?” She deadpanned.
“Uh, kinda? At least right now while you're like… this.” The unamused glare she received had Anne stifling a laugh, which only served to make Sasha look angrier. Before Anne could decide whether she should be running right about now, the murder in her eyes faded, and Sasha just snorted.
“Whatever. At least tonight is a full moon and then hopefully I’ll be back to normal in the morning.”
“If you're not, I bet Maddie can help!” Marcy offered. “She cured Anne and Sprig of their curses after all. I know lycanthropy can't be cured, but she may be able to curb some of your symptoms.” Sasha had already rolled over by the time Marcy was finished. She didn't respond, her leg twitching as her breathing evened out and she appeared to fall asleep.
“Well, I thought it was a good idea,” Anne told her. She lay back onto the pillows with Marcy in tow, and the smaller girl wrapped her limbs around her. She didn't know what time it actually was, but if Sasha was struggling to fight the urge to dog-nap, the full moon must be close.
“I'll talk to Maddie about it. I think Sasha is adorable like this, but I don't want her to be uncomfortable.” She yawned before burrowing her nose into Anne’s neck, coaxing a yawn out of her as well. “Goodnight, Anna-banana.” Anne palmed her hand against the back of Marcy’s head, lazily playing with her hair. As an afterthought, she reached out to Sasha, who was still curled into herself, and massaged her scalp as well. Between them, a golden yellow tail wagged slightly.
“Goodnight, Marce.”

Ohoho, you haven't seen one of these from me in a while now have you?
This is a good question! I have a canon-divergent idea about the girls having an in-between form consisting of ears, tail and leg paws. It's mostly used for Sasha since she's really fun to draw that way, but if you wanted you could apply it to any of the girls!
As for non-physical traits, I've already gone pretty in-depth about that and how they each get heightened smell, hearing, etc. close to and directly after a full moon. Here I've introduced a new dog-nap trait where Sasha gets inexplicably tired on the night of a full moon.
Also, in case it isn't clear, Sasha is the only werewolf in this one, and there's a lot of mutual pining but no real romance yet. I feel like it's important to mention so you can get a sense of the dynamics that are in this particular short. Thanks for the question! 🐸🐾
Read it on AO3 here!
For the werewolf au, do the girls play wrestle a lot in wolf form?
What would happen if they got a bit too rough and accidentally ended up hurting someone?
I know I've said this before but I'm really not interested in any "who would injure who" scenarios for this AU. I don't mind if other people want to explore that route but I won't be doing so. They're big puppies! They love each other and they wouldn't hurt each other or anyone else. Also, they do enough hurting each other as humans and that's the real drama that I'm here for. :')
That being said, the girls do play-fight occasionally. Anne is the least likely to initiate and isn't all that interested in joining a fight. This poses a bit of a problem given that Sasha loves play fighting, and sometimes she can play a little too rough (she's used to wrestling with toads and tough prey). Marcy likes to play wrestle but immediately surrenders if she senses Sasha is taking a fight too seriously. Sometimes she'll get bitten or scratched but she always gets lots of puppy (and human) kisses afterwards.
hey there, little red riding hood
Hmm I appear to have asked stuff you've already answered on tumblr. Sorry about that
oh don't worry about it SHDJFGKL
Werewolf AU, do any of the girls keep any wolf mannerisms or habits in their human form? Growling, chase-ball instinct, must-lick?
This one I have answered a lot, so I won't go into too much detail, but here's a short list:
Marcy gets easily distracted by fast-moving objects, little critters, etc.
Marcy and Anne both wiggle when they're excited, as though a tail were wagging behind them.
Sasha catches herself growling when she's angry or annoyed.
Sasha can and will drop everything to chase a ball thrown in her direction.
All the girls love scratches, especially Sasha.
Werewolf AU, possible angst, how did Sasha get turned, how did her first transformation go? I imagine it wasn't pleasant
I have a whole post about my two theories somewhere, depending on which one you subscribe to really determines the level of angst in her transformation. If her parents were werewolves then she would have her first transformation as a teen, during the sleepover at Marcy's house (also described in a different post).
If she turned in Amphibia, it would've been before she met Grime. She would've been in the wild, alone, fighting for her life. It would be a nightmare she isn't soon to forget. Grime would find Sasha rampaging in the woods and capture her, and well, her life would be pretty miserable from there up until Prison Break.
Amphibia werewolf Sasha au: with Anne’s calamity powers, Marcy’s incredible intelligence, and Sasha’s swordplay and lycanthropy, I wonder how long it will take once the girls are back on Earth before Marcy suggests starting a superhero team
“Hey, guys.” They were all lying in their shared bed, dressed for sleep but not quite ready to wind down for the night.
“Hmm?” Anne glanced down at Marcy, who had her head resting in Anne’s lap. Marcy’s legs were draped across Sasha’s own, and Sasha looked up from her phone with mild interest.
“Do you think we could be superheroes someday?” Sasha snorted.
“What?” Anne asked with a lopsided smile.
“Think about it!” She insisted, sitting up until she was nose-to-nose with Anne. “With your calamity box powers, you're basically Superman!” Sasha huffed in protest of Marcy’s warmth leaving her lap and shuffled closer to her girlfriends. “And I would be Batman, because I am the Night! Literally!” As if to prove her point, her eyes flickered from their familiar brown to an eerie, reptilian red, just for a moment. Anne shuddered, still not used to seeing the Night within her despite her now being in total control of it.
“What does that make me?” Sasha asked, slinging an arm around Anne’s shoulders. Marcy sat in silence to think, but Anne beat her to it, the grin on her face making Sasha's eye twitch before the words even left her mouth.
“You can be Krypto the Superdog,” she suggested coyly.
“And you can be sleeping on the couch tonight,” Sasha responded easily.
“Sasha, you would be Beast Boy,” Marcy finally said, unbothered by the bickering of her girlfriends. Sasha raised a brow at this, but the raven-haired girl continued. “You're strong, brave, adaptable to any situation. But you're also kind, supportive, a great friend, and an even greater girlfriend.”
“Aww, Marbles,” she cooed, leaning forward and cradling Marcy’s face lovingly before she kissed her. She cracked an eye open in time to see the smug look on Anne’s face fall away, and winked at her before leaning deeper into the kiss. They were both practically in Anne’s lap by the time Sasha pulled away, planting a kiss on her smaller girlfriend's forehead.
“You're such a dork,” she continued, wrapping her arms around Marcy's neck and falling backwards until the other girl was lying on top of her, giggling. “My dork,” she added, casting a sidelong glance in Anne’s direction. The flustered girl recovered quickly when she noticed Sasha staring at her, though crossing her arms did nothing to hide the deep red blush creeping over her face.
“I didn't want to kiss you anyway. You have dog breath.”
“That's it. You've officially lost girlfriend privileges for the night,” Sasha scolded, hugging Marcy tighter.
“Aw, c’mon Sash, we need our Superman!” Marcy replied. “Only if she apologizes for teasing the puppy, though.”
“Hey!” Sasha protested loudly. Marcy just laughed and threaded her fingers through the taller girl’s hair, scratching behind her ears. Anne rolled her eyes, but her defiance easily gave way to an amused smile.
“Alright, fine. I'm sorry for calling you Krypto.” The words barely left her mouth before she felt surprisingly strong arms gripping her shoulders and pulling her down onto the bed. Marcy had evidently used her powers to grab Anne in one swift motion, and she found herself leaning on her hands and staring down at her two girlfriends. Marcy was grinning happily, and Sasha was sitting up on her elbows, a smirk on her face.
“Still think I have dog breath?” She asked teasingly, her bangs tickling her girlfriend’s nose as she leaned in. Anne didn't say anything, just met her halfway in a searing kiss. They were half-hovering over Marcy, who was still flat on her back, eyes wide.
“Wow,” she murmured when they eventually pulled apart. Her hand reached out and brushed against Anne's cheek, and before she could catch her breath Marcy was leading her into a kiss of their own. Anne was getting lightheaded by the time Marcy finally released her. She flopped over onto her back between her two girlfriends.
“Some Superman I am,” she observed with a breathy chuckle.
“Oh, shush. You're perfect,” Marcy told her, snuggling into her side. “You're the glue that holds us together.” Her breathing quickly evened out against Anne’s neck, and that's when she knew Marcy had fallen asleep.
“She's right you know,” Sasha murmured against Anne’s ear. Her arm was wrapped protectively around both of her girlfriend’s waists. “You really are our Superman.” Anne reached out and twirled a few golden hairs around her fingers.
“And you're my Wonder Woman,” she hummed bemusedly. Sasha chuckled at that.
“Yeah, I am pretty great.” The blonde buried her nose against Anne’s neck. “I love you,” she said, nearly inaudible as she too began drifting off to sleep. Anne pulled both of her girlfriends closer, feeling content with the warmth and the comfort of their presence.
“I love you, too.”

Since we're talking about superpowers I decided to give Marcy her frog demon powers after Amphibia. Being smart is cool and all, but I like to imagine her and the Night become buds/she keeps some of its power after it keeps her alive. Also I know nothing about superheroes, can you tell? I did love Teen Titans though. Beast Boy was my favorite. 🐸🐾
