It’s frustrating how much Minseok wants to tell you what he really is, yet how much he can’t afford to do so.
Because for one, you’d probably look at him like he’s some kind of joke. Not to mention how Halloween is literally just around the corner. Two, he’d be risking too much just to try and prove it to you. It’s as if his brain switches off every time he shifts, with an instinct that growls killkillkill or matematemate until the effect wears off. He’d be risking not only your life, but his own as well. Heck, he doesn’t even know if you’re actually his mate!
What if you don’t take his secret well? What if you spill it to the public? What if?
It’s just a chance he’s just not willing to take.
So when you ask him, “want to hang out tonight? We can binge watch horror movies together!” He takes a little longer than necessary to answer. More like deny.
He’s reluctant to say no, but he has to because the full moon of October just so happens to fall on Halloween (which almost makes him laugh honestly).
Except what tumbles out of his mouth is, “I’m a werewolf!” instead of no thanks.
“What?” you stutter. “Did you say you’re a werewolf? For Halloween?”
Minseok purses his lips and puffs out his cheeks just a little. Of course. Of course you would think his confession would revolve around costumes and Halloween. Honestly, what is he expecting?
You giggle. “I think you’d make a cute werewolf.”
His inner wolf pretty much snarls at your innocent confession, but he refuses to let it take hold of himself.
Maybe…maybe next time. Next time, he’ll really tell you the truth.
