Scattered Symbols || Wes & Holly
She was lying on her back, looking up at the blurred spot that was supposed to be the sun, her legs crossed at the knees and her foot bobbing to the rhythm that she humming. A few teams had already left, but she was still waiting for the other half of her duo before starting up the truck and leaving for the house described on the piece of paper describing each raiding location.
Holly had stared at the list for a long moment, narrowing her eyes at the scrawl and trying to decide if she should politely ask Kris for a new partner or not. While Wes hadn't been necessarily impolite the last time they had spoken, she wasn't dumb to let the stiffness he had around her go over her head. With a huff, Holly had stomped over to her truck and started unloading everything inside, putting them all by the supplies before heading back to her room.
She was patiently stationed at the main entrance a bit later. The sun told her it was still morning, but she wished she had a watch so she could see how long she was going to have to wait for her ridiculously tall raid buddy. Seeing as how movement was their first priority, Holly had traded in her usual long skirt for a pair of shorts, leaving her to lie leisurely in the sun while she waited, wishing a few rays would actually touch her skin instead of being stopped by the sun. The heat was still penetrating just fine through the mist, making Holly's eyelids grow heavy as her voice faded back into silence as she drifted off.
She wasn't quite sure what it was she dreamed of in the brief moments she had drifted to sleep, but Holly gasped as soon as she was conscious, shooting straight up and looking around. People were still preparing to head out. Running a hand through her hair, she pulled her long blonde locks into a haphazard bun and jumped down from the truck, eager to get going now that adrenaline was rushing through her system. "Anyone seen Wes? Big tall guy with blond hair?" She called out as her hand came up to shade her eyes, not sure what she would do if the man never showed up.
