'I Know Eric' This man, Eric Williams, the man behind @thesilverroom and #silverroomblockparty. I am honored to call him a friend. He was the first friend I made when I moved to Chicago. He hooked me up with my first VJ residency at Ezuli, then Squareone. He introduced me to the main artists and performs I would collaborate with for the past twenty years: @kahilelzabar @theastergates @charleslittle2 @djsd the people who have shaped my professional career and have become my closest friends. I met them all through this man. He is a true Chicago hero, tirelessly supporting the arts, investing his money, his time, and his heart into us, into this community. He is forgiving to a fault, funny as hell, incredibly healthy, and a conduit for the artists the movers and shakers, the healers of Chicago. Eric, I am so proud of you, of the 30,000 strong who attended the #tsrblockparty17 - of us and how we have grown. You will be missed while at Harvard. You have given this white boy from Maine a family and home in this big city, and I will always be here for you. Here's to another twenty years growing and learning together. And everyone please, please donate to the block party. It's wild how much Eric spends to provide this moment for us all, please visit the silver room in person and online and donate. - video chris . . . . . . . . . . #blockparty #wespeak #TSRBlockParty #silverroom #iknoweric #humanitarian #artist #chicago #hydepark #stoptimelive #wespoke (at The Silver Room)
