Architectural detail, Basilica Cathedral, Cuzco, Peru One of the commanding presences of the main square of Cuzco, the Warrior’s Plaza, Huacaypata, Basilica Cathedral was built on the Inca Viracocha’s palace in 1560 by the Spanish. The main altar, closed when we were at the Plaza that evening is covered with sheets of pure silver.
