Well, one more portrait of Hugh Grosvenor...
In general, this is a very well detailed portrait. It is a pity that the Duke of Westminster is painted by very dark colors. It is also incredibly regretful that the aura of uncertainty emanates from the portrait, because in life the Duke of Westminster is the very strong and courageous man- probably this is all because of the pose in which Hugh Richard was forced to sit ... (back bent, hands clenched and wrapped in the closed position, all the same disgruntled gloomy face and something is wrong with the proportions of his body - seems like huge head is on narrow shoulders ...) I don't know what to say ...
Such feeling is as if the portrait was painted a very long time ago or was drawn from an old photograph ... Because now Hugh Richard is always calm, peaceful, happy and confident. He radiates friendliness and comfort ...
Personally, I always want any portrait of him to pay tribute to him and really to reflect his strengths. Hugh Richard certainly deserves better! It would be great if Hugh Richard was painted by such a famous contemporary Russian artist as Alexander Shilov (@gallery_shilov).
