It feels weird realizing I made this two years ago, and while I'm still super proud of it, wow do I need to fix the fit of the jacket now. I remember rushing to get the sleeves in, and they've never really sat on my shoulders right. Here is my #2018bestnine ! 2018 was kinda a weird year for me, but looking at this reminds me of some of the really great parts of the year. Obviously getting to be a part of bringing Stranger Things to life (and getting performer of the year, which I’m still crying over lol) is something I will never forget and honestly the high light of the year. On top of that I got to be part of the holiday parade again, and learned new roles! Plus I remembered how to cosplay for a hot second 😜 Dancing with the Bella’s is always a joy and not shown but adopting blue into our family was one of the best decisions made! Costume improvements! Left is old, right is new :)

Now that we finally have a clear shot of Dolores’ petticoat thanks to her “Wyatt” season 2 skirt being torn up, I decided to remake it. I doubled the amount of ruffles and found much more accurate lace trims and more accurate colored ribbon. (I’ll be replacing the ribbon on the ruffles I took off and re-purposing it as the ruffle for the chemise) It makes the skirt so much fuller and a LOT more screen accurate silhouette. The swish factor is also amazing, and I can’t wait to pair it with the ruffles on the chemise <3

I also tracked down and bought the screen accurate corset fabric, very close (if not screen accurate) swiss dot trim that I’ll be pleating for the trim, a much closer to screen accurate silk velvet ribbon trim, and a screen accurate brass belt buckle. The only thing I regret is that I don’t have the space to dye the amount of swiss dot fabric I would need for the bodice and skirt :/ The linen I’m using is a pretty darn close color match, similar texture and very similar drape, though.
