Stopping in at @aproofdc to accept an art delivery! I have been at Artist’s Proof close to 3 years now and I have learned so much about what it takes to run a Gallery. This week we are prepping for our next exhibition Perceptions vs. Reality: Featuring paintings by @shar_coulson. The opening reception is this Saturday from 4-6PM and Shar Coulson will be giving an Artist Talk at 5 PM. The gallery focuses on local and international emerging artists. One thing I really enjoy about my role here is getting to speak to people about the artists we represent and what they are currently inspired by! Hello DC! I met you a couple of years ago. Having come from the Midwest, I found you to be magnificent right off the bat. I’ve always appreciated diversity and you did not disappoint. I love walking down the street and hearing 3 different languages before I reach the corner. I love that people wear suits despite the stifling heat and humidity this place produces. I love seeing the internationality of this place. LOVE. You’re full of rich and poor alike. And homeless. I see you all - black, white, yellow, and brown. Gay, straight, bi, trans (and anyone I forgot) I appreciate you all. I appreciate you for our differences, and I enjoy finding our commonalities. You’re full of intelligent people like nobody’s business. I’m so excited to have the handle today bc I actually want to get your advice and perspective on some things. Stay tuned.
