Minding my business around midnight last night in the garage finally putting away the Halloween decorations (don’t judge me), and this gem from high school fell out. Happy 25th, Danny. Twenty five years. Thank you for loving me. For putting up with my nerdiness while in school, through all three degrees. For knowing how much I hate to cry in front of someone, pretending not to see or hear the tears. For "letting" me travel. For you traveling when needed, always making me feel like I "let" you. For putting up with all the pups and kitties I bring in our home and being strong enough fit all of us when one of them has to leave. For being the type of Dad to our girls I always wanted for myself. For never giving up on any of us, no matter how shitty we get. For knowing my strengths and forgiving my weaknesses, or even better, pretending not to notice them. For reminding me to relax, take it easy, or that it will all work out. You're right, it always does. For being proud of me when I had no pride in myself. For having faith in me when I didn't have enough faith to go on. For understanding there are days I need to be left alone, days I want to hyperspeed around the house getting shit done, days I need to be a bum, days I get everything done as needed and days I can't manage to get one thing accomplished. To celebrate @itsmattlawrence ‘s birthday yesterday please enjoy these excellent (and actually rather adorable!) photos of me and Matt cwtched up in my old hospital bed when I was about 17 (so he’d be about 18) and was so sick I pretty much never left the bed. I’m pretty sure @cameronscott03 took this photo! It was one of the times they came to visit on the pretext of being bored and fancying a takeaway, but actually were there to; - hang out with me and cheer me up and on! - give mum and dad a night off... I’d spasm and those amazing boys would just deal! Mum would shout “you okay?” And they’d chorus “yeah, all good!”. - to watch Disney movies and blame me... that night we watched Mulan and Bambi... I wanted to watch Thor 🙈😂! So grateful to have these fantastic friends and big brothers in my life 💖 as I always say, not many people can say their mates would actually jump out of a plane for them...
