Their second date had come out of the blue, but he didn’t mind. In fact, a certain degree of surprise and spontaneity would be good for him. After exchanging some affectionate words, they walked hand-in-hand to an ice cream parlor. Deciding to relax and enjoy their frozen treat there, for a bit at least, the pair sat down.
Picking out the flavours they wanted (strawberry for him and Chocolate for her, mostly picking different ones to have an excuse from trying to steal from each other), he fell into his habit of unncessary introspection. Especially at a time like this. Charlie couldn’t help but try to explain away his feelings, afraid that he’d come on too strong if he didn’t come to a conclusion about it.
To dispel the deepening silence, Xate decided to start up a conversation again, her lovely voice being enough to break him out of his train of thought. "Oh! Have I told you why I actually go by Xate? It's nothing too interesting or complex but...I still feel like you should know it..."
Suddenly having been brought back to reality, the CEO stumbled a bit before regaining his balance, so to speak. "Oh? I actually am a bit curious about that, do tell."
