Interesting lore bit that was mentioned only once is that Brimmed Caps put their entire operation on hold four years before the story began.

But what if it was exactly four years ago that Coco received the magic book at the festival? It's just a theory, but it makes Brimmed Caps' fascination with Coco even more unsettling. For some reason, Iguin finding her was such a big deal for them that they put everything they were doing on hold, went into hiding, and waited for their "saviour" to discover the magic. Such a borderline cultish behaviour makes me really worried what exactly they're planning to do with her.

Egg on my face for assuming their gender, actually. The English dub’s voice actor is a woman, and for some reason THAT is what made me realize we don’t know Iguin’s gender. Oh my god. I’m stupid. Iguin I’m sorry I didn’t know your game. Your beautiful nonbinary swag.
