FINAL DESIGN IN CONTEXT: THE PLAY TENT

I have chosen to put my design into this specific context simply because its fun. For me, this project was about having fun and using myself to learn to be more playful within my drawings. I feel that i have achieved this and it just didn't seem fitting to add this to your standard roman blind home textile. I chose whales because of their element of mystery and unknown. As a child , i spent hours in a my own play tent, reading stories, learning about new things and discovering my own little world. I want this design to be interactive in the way that it was formed. By being played with and handled and moved around-something like self discovery?!

One the outside , the repeating ‘dancing whales’ (as I'm naming them) invite the explorer in... then, this wandering mind sits inside the tent surround by washed , watery stripes that immerse them in their adventuring as if they were floating right along the mysterious , giant, dancing whales.
