Okay so let me tell you a story. I never batted an eye at Tseng. He was pretty, and his voice could melt the soul, but he never received enough screen time in CC and he was kind of an ass in VII but beyond that I didn't care about him. Until I met you. Until you brought with you the Lifestream and a cool glass of water and you breathed into him until he came to life. Your Tseng has a rustic and gritty charm to him, but he's so human it hurts and you make me realize there is more to his story----
than I ever dreamed was possible. Because of you, Tseng’s become an entirely different man and the amount of thought, the depth you give him, the words you write, I see him in an absolutely new freaking light that I adore. Your portrayal is so spot on I can see the character, I adhere his actions and thoughts to what you give us all and I find myself daydreaming about the unique universe you’ve built for him. Your Tseng is elegant and cold and bitter yet he’s incredibly loving and passionate.—
You understand the subtle nuances of a person’s heart, the layers of their core which makes them..well…THEM. If it weren’t for you, Tseng would have passed beneath my radar and with him every single Turk and side character we’d only just begun to know. You opened my eyes to the wide WIDE world of Final Fantasy and made me appreciate a character I could have easily lived without. Well, now I can’t. I’ve fallen in love with Tseng and so has Sephiroth.
Frown. Where am I supposed to put all these ugly feelings? You are not allowed to write me nice things anymore. This feels like such an accomplishment and tbh, it’s what I’ve always wanted? For people to actually acknowledge Tseng. Because he’s there, throughout the whole compilation (albeit not always conscious, thanks seph) and he sees almost everything that goes on behind the curtains. I have so many feelings about him and this is going to end up long if I don’t stop myself from blubbering so I’m going to try to keep from doing exactly that asjgfdakhdkaj.
Your Sephiroth though. Tseng took one look at him and said ‘challenge accepted.’ I’m not sure what that says about him, only that it’s probably not good. I love how they met, how their horns locked and I love how they’re both too stubborn to back down. Your Sephiroth brings out a more calculated side to him and it’s fascinating to write him that way. I can’t put a finger on Tseng myself. It feels like he’s taking everyone for a ride and we’re all just passengers going along with a plan that’s too big for anyone to conceive.
But what I’ve noticed about him, if nothing else, is that Tseng is a chameleon. He adapts, he’s a master of illusions, and what you see of him is not what others see of him. And if you ever ask him who he is outright, his answer will be ‘I’ll be whatever you want me to be.’
Thank you for sending this to me omg it means so much.
