What's going on...? I feel real shaky all of a sudden...
A Reply to Dr. Ellister Thorley
[While the reply letter is not as thick as the folio sent by Natharai, it is heavier than a simple note. The writing and seal remain the same as before.]
Mr. Ebonrook,
You have my gratitude for translating such a deplorable collection of writings. It took quite the mental fortitude to read the translation in its entirety; more than once I contemplated setting fire to the damned papers. However, if one is able to filter through the disgusting detritus of an egotistical madman, there is valuable information contained within. I am particularly intrigued by the author’s methods of shaping the flesh. Parallels can be drawn to several methods of transmutation of metals, and even to the malleable nature of flesh in the hands of a practitioner of the Light…please read further, as I explain what I mean.
I have a hypothesis, Mr. Ebonrook. What I am lacking, thus far, is concrete evidence for it. Your efforts in translating this manual have added to my growing body of proof for a unifying theory. I believe all magics pertaining to the flesh are derived from the same basic principles. When I state all magic, I do mean all. The force of the Light, druidic teachings, necromancy, ancient Titan curses…they are all governed by the same underlying theorems. And I intend to elucidate what those theorems are.
I’ve included a set of notes that I penned whilst spending time with a druidic shan’do, as well as notes that I’ve collected from various books and scrolls pertaining to druidic practices. I recall you expressed interest in shapeshifting; I hope that these notes will give you food for thought.
If this matter has piqued your academic interest, please reply with a date and time for us to meet and discuss the concept further.
Regards,
E. Thorley
[The collection of notes is comprised of several dozen pieces of parchment. Some are written in pencil, others in ink, suggesting these notes were written at different times. The content varies from literary analysis of kaldorei legends to personal entries. The main theme running through them all is that druidic shapeshifting, while having a mainly theological origin, could potentially also have a root in biological and chemical mechanisms…]
The return letter is, thankfully, prompt and sealed with the usual red wax. Upon opening the letter though, the response is shockingly sparse. There is no greeting, nor a signature at the bottom; There is only a four-word reply in familiar script...
"When can we meet?"
((OOC: The original chain of responses can be found here.))
*kisses* ((It's a contagious kissing seal! Pass it on to the next 10 people on your dash!)) ♥
