Pretty excited I got to meet @ashleerae83 in REAL life!!! ————————————— Ashlee slid into my DMs right around when I moved to Durham (more than 2 years ago). We started talking intermittently about what we were going through as we were both waiting to be transplanted. She got listed right around the same time as me and got transplanted in February (5 months of waiting for her). Now, Ash and I talk every day with two others, @tiffrich22 and @lung_story_short (the salty transplant tribe). All four of us share a bond that reaches across the USA, from PA to NC to CO to CA... we all have this connection of CF and lung transplantation that very few share. We all have that passion for life because we’ve gotten another chance at it. We’ve gone from talking about our disease to just being girls in a group chat, talking about our day and about people who annoy us. Occasionally a transplant question will come up, but we’re all just really good friends now. I know I always have people who have my back. No matter what. ——————————————— Ashlee, I’m so happy y’all decided to come down south to get a puppy and stop in Charlotte to enjoy a day on the lake. Anytime you get a craving for some south, there’s an open room, and if I ever find myself up north I know who to call 💜💜 ——————————————— #doublelungtransplant #cysticfibrosis #friendswithoutborders #transplantlife #what6footrule #thankyoudonors #thankyoudre (at Lake Wylie)
