Peterick Theory #2: G.I.N.A.S.F.S.
This theory is a rather popular one, so you may have heard about it before.
(If you are unfamiliar; GINASFS stands for “gay is not a synonym for shitty”)
This theory is circulated around the lyrics “Born under a bad sign, but you saved my life that night on the roof of your hotel” from the bonus track off of Fall Out Boy’s 2007 album Infinity On High’s deluxe counterpart. Many believe those lyrics refer to the time Patrick saved Pete from suicide.
For this next part refer to theory #1.
The whole interpretation of those lyrics is eerily similar to how Donny Hathaway took his own life. Don’t believe me? Take a look at this citation from the Wikipedia page on his death: “Hours later, Hathaway was found dead on the sidewalk below the window of his 15th-floor room in New York’s Essex House hotel. It was reported that he had jumped from his balcony.” He committed suicide by jumping off of a balcony. From those song lyrics, I can conclude that Pete would’ve done the same- until Patrick found him and stopped him. If you’re familiar with theory #1, you would know that in “What A Catch, Donnie” the Ms. Flack character is taken by the place of Patrick. Another supporting citation is “Flack was devastated and, spurred by his death,”. In my personal opinion, Pete listened to Patrick because he loved him too much, not necessarily in a romantic sense- but enough to consider his feelings. But it very well could’ve been romantic, hence the rest of the song.
I hope y'all enjoyed this theory. I’ll post theory #3 tomorrow as it is a continuation of this. - Kiarra
