Soleil currently had her head in one of her hands, aimed at a particularly noisy and suspicious set of undergrowth.
@whataclown reblogged for a starter!
[One on One UB Research feat. Loch and @whataclown ]
From what he recalled learning about UB-Burst, the former was most likely. Although it was rather unsettling, considering the explosive qualities of the thing’s head. . . .
“Ah, that’s not foliage.” He clarifies after touching his head and inspecting his hair to ensure there were no plants on it. “That’s my hair. Aah, ‘fur.’” Wait, did any of the Ultra Beasts have fur, would it even know what he was talking about, why was it talking--
['The World For Dummies Volume 1' for @whataclown ]
"Aaah, well. . . ." Those were easy answers, but still, how to word them. . . . "A Pokémon is. . .any number of particularly capable monsters, living or otherwise. They're able to perform certain moves using. . .certain powers humans and simpler creatures typically lack, that allow them to manipulate certain properties in the world. You, as an Ultra Beast, are somewhat considered to be a Pokémon, albeit from another dimension."
That was. . .reasonable, right? He'd never had to explain just what a Pokémon was before. . .but he thinks he did reasonably well.
"A camera is a device that creates pictures--which are, aah. . .still images of. . .sights. They're like memories in small, physical, visual form, but they capture only a single moment."
He takes a picture of the Rockruff, which had moved a ways away due to their drawing attention to thenselves. From there, he presents the digital camera's screen to Ruffles. "Does it make more senseto watch it work this way?"

There is nothing but a very small snack packed inside but he insisted on taking this 🎒 to school today. #whataclown #paxtonrocket #2yearsold
A small pokémon floats down from the sky, daintily holding a yellow flower. It warily regards the black-clad gangster as it offers a piece of paper. The paper reads: "Alola! Please state your name, occupation, what kind of garden you prefer and why." (A. A garden to grow food and herbs in) (B. A nicely trimmed, soft lawn to play on) (C. A garden filled with the scents of flowers to look at and relax) (D. A haven for weeds, wildflowers and bugs) (E. I don't want a garden) (F. Other _________)
Oh, a Floette? He looks back at it with a small smile, disarming, but perhaps simply an expression of that he had no ill-intent towards it.
When he was offered the paper, he took it, then offered a Pokébean in return, beginning to read the note and analyze the handwriting for recognizability. When he found he didn’t really recognize it, though perhaps that was for lack of trying, he supposed he should respond so the poor Floette wouldn’t be forced to hover around him all day.
“Name: Loch
Occupation: Team Skull MemAdmin”
He read over his options for a while--all of them sounded wonderful, although he didn’t know where he would keep such a thing. . . . They could always use more food at Shady House. Their Pokémon could always use space to play. Somewhere to relax is always welcome for the stressed out admins and the anxious folks of Shady. Weeds, wildflowers, and bugs would attract Pokémon. . . .
Would he have to care for the garden? He was no green thumb. . . .
Eventually he went with “F. Other,” writing in the space in somewhat sloppy handwriting, that was legible but not as neat as anticipated from the gangster,
“I have a Pokémon that feeds off of vitality of living things. I would like to try and feed her the vitality of plants and have it be a renewable resource. She enjoys varying flavors, and I don’t want to deprive her too much of enjoyable substance. Please make the choice for me that you think would best benefit this situation. Thank you for your interest, and good luck with your gardening.”
With that, he offered the paper to the Pokémon that had first delivered it. “Thank you. I hope that helps whoever may have sent you.”
