What matters to me (Politics)

What matters to me in this election is to see both the local constituency and the country as a whole become much fairer. Food banks should not be necessary in a first world country in the 21st century. The vulnerable must be protected, but those who exploit systems must not be allowed to do so. And that applies equally to those who exploit the tax systems as well as those who exploit the benefits system. I have a son in his 20's and I want to see him have the same sort of opportunities for a good life that I had.....and that means I don't want him and the rest of his generation to be saddled with the debts that our generation have accrued. It isn't fair. So reducing both the defect and the national debt are important and we cannot ignore that What else matters to me is mental health. It has been the cinderella of the NHS for far too long . Mental health needs the same priority as physical health but what needs to happen is young people to et taught the techniques and practices that will enable them to keep their mental health good throughout their whole lives. In the NHS generally we need to focus on promoting good health not just treating bad health. It is not a national health service ...it is a national illness service.
