Working on a cowl in honeycomb stitch. The stitch looks complex but is actually a very straightforward 2-stitch, 4-row pattern. The resulting fabric is thick and squishy, which will make it extra warm come the cold winds of late fall.
Recently I’ve been revisiting a teenage dream: to become a Master Hand Knitter through The Knitting Guild Association. Knitting has been a part of my life, in one way or another, sonce I was 14. I was taught by my sophomore math teacher, of all people, and have been self-teaching as needed ever since. Even after a years-long hiatus I fell back into it last year with ease and joy.
Pursuing a structured program would allow me to learn new skills and get feedback from experienced knitters. It’s not a light commitment, as the program can take up to 4.5 years, and each level has a time limit and the potential for repeated re-dos to achieve competency. I’m going to join the Guild and begin reviewing educational materials, and then plan to start in earnest in 2021. ❤🧶
