Because you're using your girlfriend's disability as a prop to prove that you don't possess male privilege (you still do)? "My girlfriend is disabled and I've devoted my life to her!!!!" (That is very kind of you.) "Also I'm poor!!!!!!" (I'm sorry, that sucks. I am too.) "How is any of that privilege?????" It's not. That you're a male who assumes the desire for equal representation for women is the same thing as wanting dominance over men is.
No, im not attempting to use the disability as a prop in the slightest, on the contrary, i’m not using it as a prop whatsoever. I don’t assume that the desire for equal representation for women is the same thing as wanting dominance over men, had you read what i’ve written you would see that that isnt the case. I simply cannot stand hypocrites who will sit there preaching equality, but are so quick to spread hate themselves. I’m not saying this is you even in the slightest, i don’t know you or your views whatsoever, as you do not know me or MY views whatsoever. I’ve simply spent the last several days watching as people claiming to back equality are belittling others for their opinions based on nothing but their gender, the very thing they claim to be battling in the first place. When somebody calls me an “Ableist” (One who discriminates against the disabled) and tells me that i need to “Check my able-bodied privilege” when they havn’t suffered from disability nor do they live their lives revolving around helping those with disabilities, i’m going to call them on their shit because believe me, I know far more about it than they ever will. How can you honestly say you support equality when you belittle another person’s beliefs and opinions because of something they had no control over, like being born with “Male privilege”? That is not equality. Equality is accepting all for what they are REGARDLESS of how better or worse off they are than you, and that’s the only point i’ve attempted to get across.
